Tron: Legacy

This film follows up the 1982 original Tron, with Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn. Flynn has gotten sucked into the Grid, a virtual world he created, and has been missing for 20 years. It's up to his grown son Sam (Garrett Hedlund) to enter the cold, video game-like world of the Grid to find him. Olivia Wilde also costars as Quorra, an ally in the Grid and love interest for Sam. GeekSugar loved the movie because of its impressive visual effects and eerie soundtrack, courtesy of Daft Punk. DVD extras include behind-the-scenes featurettes and deleted scenes.

Little Fockers

Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are back as Greg and Jack, still sparring as in-laws. Though Greg has earned his place in the family, Jack still has his eye on him and the two newest Fockers, the twin children of Pam and Greg. The film has a flimsy plot — Jack wants to prevent Greg from cheating on his wife with sexy pharmaceutical rep Jessica Alba — but there are still a decent amount of laughs. Extras on the DVD include a gag reel, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and an alternate opening and ending.

Tron: Legacy hits DVD and Blu-ray next week (April 5), and not only does the five disc combo ($50) come with the original TRON feature film, but it's also packed with extra footage and bonus features.

I've got a sneak peek at a few behind the scenes featurettes, one showcasing Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund as they practice their stunts and fighting sequences, while the other focuses on the Light Jets. Check out both clips after the jump.

Box Office: True Grit Takes No. 1 in a Lackluster Weekend

Box office numbers were down over the holiday break, and the slump continued this weekend.

Box office numbers were down over the holiday break, and the slump continued this weekend. The box office fell 30 percent from last weekend's tally, making it one of the worst first weekends of January since 2000. But at least there's good news for True Grit. The Western took in $15 million, making it the first Coen brothers film to pass the $100 million mark. It also pushed the film ahead of reigning champ Little Fockers for first place. Little Fockers slipped to second with $13.7 million, while the Nicolas Cage flick Season of the Witch debuted at third with $10.7 million.

Tron: Legacy took the fourth spot with $9.8 million, followed by Black Swan, which took in $13 million and cracked the top five for the first time. Though Gwyneth Paltrow's Country Strong went wide in more theaters this weekend, it wasn't enough to push the film to the top of the competition; it came in sixth with $7.3 million.

Find out more about the gamer pack, as well as the headphones, in the video below!

Celeb Style: Beau Garrett

With Winter in full swing, temperatures are hitting pretty remarkable lows — which spells good news for those of us who enjoy bundling up.

With Winter in full swing, temperatures are hitting pretty remarkable lows — which spells good news for those of us who enjoy bundling up. Tron: Legacy actress Beau Garrett hit the streets in New York City yesterday in a cozy-chic wool coat ($43, originally $149), black riding boots, and a fringe-trimmed, plaid scarf ($79). She looked pretty, polished, and — most importantly — warm. Click the items above to shop a similar style.

Box Office: Little Fockers Ring In the New Year

It was another lackluster holiday weekend at the box office, and once again, Little Fockers came out on top.

It was another lackluster holiday weekend at the box office, and once again, Little Fockers came out on top. Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller's comedy took in $26.3 million over the weekend, though it was True Grit that really made waves. The film stayed in second place with $24.5 million, but the Western has already grossed more than Oscar winner No Country For Old Men, making it the biggest film for the Coen brothers to date.

Tron: Legacy stayed in third with $18.3 million, while Yogi Bear climbed a notch to fourth with $13 million. Completing the top five was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with $10.5 million.

Overall, numbers were down from this weekend last year, but perhaps a new slate of 2011 movies will help the tides change in the coming weeks.

Box Office: Little Fockers Bring Holiday Cheer

Little Fockers earned top honors at the box office this weekend, but the victory wasn't so sweet.

Little Fockers earned top honors at the box office this weekend, but the victory wasn't so sweet. Overall, the holiday weekend estimates were down 45% from last year (which included juggernauts Avatar and Sherlock Holmes). The third Meet the Parents film took in $34 million, followed by the debut of the Coen brothers' True Grit with $25.6 million. Last week's champ, Tron: Legacy, finished third with $20.1 million, followed by The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader at $10.8 million. To close out the top five, Yogi Bear finished with $8.8 million.

As for other note-worthy performances (both good and bad): Gulliver's Travels suffered (perhaps from abysmal reviews) opened with a mere $7.2 million. On the other hand, The King's Speech reaped the benefits of a wider release, climbing from No. 11 to No. 14 with $4.5 million.

Olivia Wilde Covers Women's Health: "When You Feel Like You're Going to Die . . . Keep Going."

Like BuzzSugar, we were blown away while watching Tron: Legacy this weekend, one reason being Olivia Wilde, who portrays the female lead, Quorra, in the film.

Like BuzzSugar, we were blown away while watching Tron: Legacy this weekend, one reason being Olivia Wilde, who portrays the female lead, Quorra, in the film. For the entirety of the film, Olivia is in a skintight black bodysuit; she looks amazing in it and shows off some pretty awesome fight moves, too. Recently, Olivia gave a Twitter shout-out to trainer Patrick Murphy for getting her "ripped like a racehorse" and also sat down with Women's Health to share how she got in shape for the film. Here are the highlights:

  • On getting into shape for Tron: "I worked with a personal trainer, so I did about an hour of cardio five or six days a week, weight training three times a week, mixed martial arts/fighting three times a week, and that's a lot more than my normal [routine]!"
  • On balancing life with maintaining her figure: "Striving for physical perfection takes a lot of energy. For me it's important to come home from work, cook a meal with my husband, and spend the afternoon reading a book, instead of always running around."
  • On keeping up in spin class: "When you feel like you're going to die . . . keep going."

Tron Leaves Its Legacy at the Box Office

All the special effects of the futuristic Tron: Legacy were enough to lure audiences to the theaters.

All the special effects of the futuristic Tron: Legacy were enough to lure audiences to the theaters. The sequel scored the top spot at the box office for its opening weekend, earning $43.6 million. Behind it was another newcomer, Yogi Bear, which took in $16.7 million. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was knocked from number one and slid to third place with $12.4 million.

The Fighter reaped the benefits of a wider release and many award nominations: the boxing film was boosted from 19th to fourth with $12.2 million. Meanwhile, The Tourist stumbled to fifth place with $8.7 million. New romantic comedy How Do You Know didn't receive a warm welcome: the Reese Witherspoon/Paul Rudd/Owen Wilson flick took in just $7.6 million.
