Cuddly Pumpkin Templates For Your Geeky Jack-o'-Lantern

We may be slightly obsessed with the pumpkin templates over on ThinkGeek's website. The online shop for everything nerd culture is currently holding its annual Great Geeky Pumpkin Template Contest, and submissions are pouring in to help readers carve clever and crafty pumpkins for Halloween. We picked our favorite cuddly templates that are a little bit sweet (Hello Kitty), a little bit whimsical (Totoro), and way too hilarious not to share (Gory Tauntaun). Check out the ones we're considering carving, and view all the submissions on ThinkGeek's blog.

Forget the Gift, Get the Star Wars Bevvie Set For Yourself

'Tis the season to put others ahead of your own wants and needs, but this Star Wars Breakfast Beverage Set ($30) is the perfect gift to give yourself this Winter.

'Tis the season to put others ahead of your own wants and needs, but this Star Wars Breakfast Beverage Set ($30) is the perfect gift to give yourself this Winter. Keep warm in the cold morning air with this trio of Vader's Dark Side Roast, Hoth Chocolate (my fave), and Yoda Dagobah Green Tea, each packed in a tin can for freshness, which can then be reused for a variety of other things — as a pencil cup, cord holder, change jar, whatever.

Of course, you could share the love with friends and family on Christmas morning since there's enough to go around: 12 ounces of coffee, four to five cups of hot chocolate, and enough for 14 cups of green tea. Just a suggestion.

Ghost Lamps: Love 'Em or Leave 'Em?

Pac-Man (and his costars) are getting quite a bit of play on the Internet recently, and the love continues with these Ghost Lamps ($70) from ThinkGeek.

Pac-Man (and his costars) are getting quite a bit of play on the Internet recently, and the love continues with these Ghost Lamps ($70) from ThinkGeek. Coming in a set of four, the lamps will light up your life (or your desk, anyway) with soft colors of red, yellow, green, and white. If nothing else, they'd probably look great in a bookshelf or as a nightlight for your geeky baby.

Andrea Owens of Think Geek: Geeky Girl We Love

ThinkGeek has long been a go-to destination for geek shoppers online, so when I was introduced to one of their Merchandising Assistants and she immediately divulged she is a geeksugar fan, I realized we were a match made in heaven.

Andrea Owens, who describes herself as "laid back, high strung, random, a little bit crazy, fun, and a little bit of an organizing control freak," had always been a fan of Thinkgeek and had joked it would be so awesome to work there. After moving to Virginia, she checked the website to look at a gift for her husband noticed they were hiring. Needless to say, that was a match made in heaven.

These days Andrea's job consists of monitoring ThinkGeek's stock of current products, ordering stock, researching (can you imagine how much fun that is?), and the best part, product testing. What's the seemingly perfect geek job really like and what makes Andrea so geek chic? Check out my interview with her! read more
