DWTS Week Two: the Woz Dances Despite His Injury

Last night on Dancing With the Stars, Steve Wozniak was all smiles as he danced the quickstep while showing his true geek colors with a pair of black-rimmed glasses. I was happy to see Steve feeling like his old self again after suffering an incipient fracture in his left foot. Steve promised his fans that he'd stop even if he suffered some acute pain but said he only took one aspirin in five days — such a trooper! After Steve's dance number — which scored him and Karina a 17 out of 30 — Bruno said that Steve was not only resilient but also incredibly charming. There was even a quick shot of his ex Kathy Griffin in the audience . . . wait for it at the end of the video!

Oh no! Our favorite Dancing With the Stars contestant has injured his leg!

Oh no! Our favorite Dancing With the Stars contestant has injured his leg! Steve Wozniak was spotted yesterday wearing a removable cast after he fractured his leg during practice.

We're happy to hear that despite his injury, he has vowed to continue and says that his next dance will be "wild and fast and all-over crazy and fun, just like the first one."

Ahh, such a Woz thing to say! We're so happy that the loveable Woz has decided to continue on with his dancing journey and after last week's entertaining performance, we can't wait to see what him and Karina are cooking up for Monday's show.

Hope your leg makes a speedy recovery, Steve!

DWTS Week One: The Woz Scores a 13 Out of 30

Len said it held his attention and he was fascinated by it, but overall he thought it was a disaster.

Len said it held his attention and he was fascinated by it, but overall he thought it was a disaster. Bruno said he didn't know if it was hilarious or delirious and it was like watching a Teletubby going mad in a gay pride parade. And Carrie Ann said that "The Woz" is what the competition is all about. Did you watch Steve's big performance last night on Dancing With the Stars? Although he may have only scored a 13, how frickin' adorable was he? "The Woz" gets a perfect score in my books for best attitude, cheeky jokes and perma smile. Be sure to vote for him! During the intro clip he had this to say about his first dance:

People might have thought designing a computer was hard, they haven't tried ballroom dancing.

Watch "The Woz" on Dancing With the Stars Tonight

It was only one month ago we learned that the adorable Steve Wozniak would be putting on his dancing shoes and competing in this season's Dancing With the Stars.

It was only one month ago we learned that the adorable Steve Wozniak would be putting on his dancing shoes and competing in this season's Dancing With the Stars. Well the time has come my friends and tonight it all kicks off! Wired recently caught up with Steve to ask him about his dancing debut, and here's a snip it of what he had to say about it:

Our routine only lasts a minute and 17 seconds of dance, but it's very intense. My wife says I'm moving my feet like I'm dancing all night. I work hard, dripping sweat front and back. We have some little Russian steps where you drop down on the knee, pop down on the other knee, so you're jumping up and down. I wind up out of breath.

Ahhh. . . Be sure to watch and vote for Steve tonight!

On March 9, one of my favorite geeks will be trading in his gadgets for his dancing shoes to compete on Dancing With the Stars. The Apple co-founder has just been announced as one of the 13 contestants to join the season eight cast.

I don't know what I'm more excited to see, Woz getting his groove on or making small talk backstage with Jackass main man, Steve-O?! Either or, it's going to be one entertaining season!

Apples and Wedding Bells: Steve Wozniak Gets Married!

It doesn't matter whether you would date Steve Wozniak or not; he's off the market, ladies!

It doesn't matter whether you would date Steve Wozniak or not; he's off the market, ladies! The Apple co-founder got married over the weekend to his fiancée — who is not, I repeat, not Kathy Griffin. That makes me pretty sad, because I loved them together on her show, My Life on the D-List.

Even though I can't add the Woz and Kathy to my list of tech giants and their loves, I'm on the lookout for a fab pic of Woz and his lucky lady. I hope she's geeky, too, and the odds are that she is, because she and Woz wed at the SegwayFesT 2008. Nerd alert!

Congrats!

Happy Remote Control Day!

I love a good geek holiday, especially when it has to do with honoring one of the greatest inventions of all time — the remote control!

I love a good geek holiday, especially when it has to do with honoring one of the greatest inventions of all time — the remote control! I can't even imagine LBTRC (life before the remote control), a time when you'd actually have to get up to change the channel — eeek! Oh grandma and grandpa, if only you got to experience the awesomeness that is remote controls. Did you know that it was Apple's Steve Wozniak who started the company that created the CORE (Controller Of Remote Equipment) remote control?! In my house, we have a whopping six remote controls lying around, so this Remote Buddy vertical remote holder may be exactly what my living room needs. For $60, this color-coded caddy will send a signal to the remote if it gets lost, oh and the cup holder, it's included too!

Kathy Griffin was on the Today Show yesterday to promote the A-List Awards, but what was more interesting was when Kathy talked about her relationship with her very tech-famous ex-boyfriend, Steve Wozniak (he rides a Segway! LOL!).

They're no longer dating, and Kathy mentioned that he'd since met someone and became engaged. How does he get the ladies?

Now, Wozniak is undoubtedly a genius computer engineer who co-founded Apple, and let's not lie, the billionaire title is not exactly a turn-off. . . but! The Woz?!

He's a billionaire, he's an Apple father, and he must be hiding some serious charm under that, um, teddy-bear exterior. Tell me — would you date him?
