The Xperia X10 Is a Social Network Addict's Dream

At first glance, the Android-running Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson could be just another smartphone.

At first glance, the Android-running Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson could be just another smartphone. Packed with a 4-inch touchscreen, fast 1Ghz processor, 8.1MP camera, and up to 32GB of memory, this phone is a nicely competitive device for those who have surpassed the need for a simple flip phone but aren't yet into the megawatt power of the recent batch of "superphones" like the EVO 4G, Droid X, and soon-to-be Droid 2.

However, if you're addicted to your social networks like Twitter and Facebook, have a boatload of pics on Picasa, and consider music and videos a necessary evil in life, this could be the phone for you. Find out why (and see more images) after the jump.

Sony Ericsson has announced a new phone born out of its design teams' "love for the materials and colors found in the natural world." You would expect that means a phone made of hemp, patchwork and blue sky, but it actually came out more like a mood ring.

The Sony Ericsson S500 is a 14mm slim slider with color accents and changing desktop themes. You set the in-phone themes and external light effects to change when you want - with the seasons, as day turns to night or when the weekend begins.

The phone also includes regular phone functions such as a 2.0 megapixel camera, a media player and expandable Memory Stick slot.

Sony Ericsson's special silver and black versions of the K800 and K790 Cyber-shot camera phone took center screen in Casino Royale and if it means being one step closer to Bond man Daniel Craig I don't know how anyone could resist them.

The exclusive camera phones, which were available for a limited period of three months, are highly capable mobile phones that also provide a 3.2 Megapixel camera with Autofocus, Xenon Flash for lowlight conditions and BestPic, which allows the user to take nine pictures of a moving object simultaneously and choose to keep the best shot. It also allows high speed 3G data transfer then allows the user to share images easily and instantly so you can share them with friends, colleagues - or even MI6 – as you take their picture.

Since releasing the first model, Sony Ericsson has come out with newer versions of the phone so if you really want one you still have a chance. For an up-close look at the phone read more

Sony Ericsson Previews Super Slim Walkman Phone

Sony Ericsson has finally released photographs of the rumored new model of the Walkman(R) phone and I must admit, I'm very impressed.

Sony Ericsson has finally released photographs of the rumored new model of the Walkman(R) phone and I must admit, I'm very impressed. The W880 Walkman(R) phone combines the good looks of the hottest thin phones of the day (think Blackberry Pearl and RAZOR) with updated music-centered features of the old-school Walkman.

The W880 will launch within the first half of 2007 when more details will be provided. Overall, it looks like 2007 will be the year of the music phone. Every manufacturer is scramming to make the ultimate MP3 player/phone combo before the competition. I suspect the best of the best will come from a company like Sony, which already has experience with music players.
