Until Sept. 9, I'm fairly sure I won't not be freaking out about every little tidbit of information on Beatles Rock Band, and the following is no exception: Kotaku reports that the game will feature an all-singing mode. This news comes after previous rumors of a Singstar version with Beatles songs, which have also been dispelled.
While that would have also been awesome, the all-singing feature still sounds hot; in fact, there may even be special microphone packs for the Beatles game. Stay tuned.
Any excuse to re-enact the "Bohemian Rhapsody" car scene from Wayne's World, and I'm all about it. Starting today, you'll be able to channel your inner Freddie Mercury (and Garth and Wayne) thanks to SingStar Queen ($28). This 20-track game features all of the hits from the English rock band, including "We Are the Champions," "Under Pressure," and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love." It also features a voice control menu which allows players to choose songs in the carousel from their microphone and multiple game-play modes including solo and freestyle. And I thought the Britney Spears song pack was going to be a trip!
Hey Britney Spears fans! Get ready to belt out your favorite vintage Brit tunes: a Britney Spears song pack has just been added to the SingStore, the online store for one of my favorite karaoke games, SingStar.
The song pack costs $7 and includes the songs "Oops! I Did It Again," "(You Drive Me) Crazy," "Born to Make You Happy," "I Love Rock 'n’ Roll," and "Stronger." However you feel about the comeback queen, I know you want your shot on the mike doing these songs. (Oh, and PS: "Ice Ice Baby" has also been added. Plan your party now.)
I'm in denial over how much I actually like Christmas carols. Maybe it's because most carolers are so annoying (even emoticon carolers, after awhile).
However, if you allow yourself to see past the cheesiness (as you must do for a lot of holiday traditions), you can appreciate them for how great they are. In the case of carols, I think all you need to be is the person with the mike in your hand.
Yes, Christmas carols are now on PlayStations 3's SingStore for SingStar! Announced earlier this month, you should now be able to log on and start downloading the $7 Christmas pack with songs like Toni Braxton's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas" and Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" (my fave!).
Start warming up those pipes! I heard from a little birdie (read: Sony's website) that one of the greatest bands to sing along with EVER - ABBA - is coming to SingStar (for Playstation 2 and 3) with their own awesome collection.
If you OD'd on Mamma Mia this Summer like I did, then you understand how crazy stoked I am that I'm about to get an ABBA song collection for my PS3! I mean, I've been known to belt out random ABBA songs in my office in the shower, so I may as well be collecting points for it!
Something about a warm day receding into a balmy night makes you want to get your friends together for a party, even if you live in a city where the nights never quite make it to "balmy." Wherever you are, the need to throw a bash during the long days of Summer is undeniable, and what do you need besides ample food and drink? Gadgets! Check out my slideshow for all the tech you need to throw a Summer soirée!
Start your karaoke engines people, because Sony has just announced that Singstar will be going on sale in the US starting November 13th. Thanks to the gaming gurus at Kotaku, this announcement paired with the release of a partial playlist is guaranteed to get wannabe singers all over the U.S warming up their USB powered mics. Seriously, what could be more fun than belting out your favorite songs off-key with a bunch of your gal pals?
I don't know what it is about karaoke that makes me love it so much. Maybe it's completely embarrassing yourself in front of your friends while belting out Guns n' Roses in the wrong key. Now you can bring all the karaoke fun to the comfort of your own living room with Sony's Playstation 3 karaoke edition called Singstar.
Singstar will be released in Europe then makes its way to North America by the fall. Not much info available yet, but what I can tell you is that you can download and upload your videos, and completely expose your singing talents to the world. Check out the pics of Singstar below.
