Wendi Murdoch Defends Husband Rupert From Pie in Parliament

Rupert Murdoch's wife, Wendi, leapt out of her seat today when a man hurled what looked like a pie at her husband during his testimony in Britain's parliament.

Rupert Murdoch's wife, Wendi, leapt out of her seat today when a man hurled what looked like a pie at her husband during his testimony in Britain's parliament. As the attack on the 80-year-old News Corps CEO went down, Wendi made contact with the attacker in the slap seen 'round the world. "Wendi Murdoch" has now reached worldwide Twitter trending topic status.

The scene in the British parliament was already tense today as Rupert Murdoch and his son James came to testify about their role in the News of the World phone hacking scandal. During the questioning, Rupert's wife, Wendi, sat seething right behind him, but she was ready to go at the sign of danger. Left-wing activist and comedian Jonnie Marbles is taking credit for the attack, and whoever did it will likely face assault charges. Watch it go down above.

Brad and Angelina Live It Up in Long Island

Where in the world are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?

Where in the world are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? Well, when they're not globe-trotting, the dynamic duo has, as of late, been renting out media mogul Rupert Murdoch's expansive waterfront home for $100,000 a month. Known as "Rosehearty," the 1885 Federal-style North Shore Long Island mansion is on the market for $12.8 million. With 11 bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, at least three fireplaces, a guest house, a tennis court, pool, spa, and its very own 260-foot stretch of beach and a dock, the 10,000-square-foot property is just big enough to keep the Jolie-Pitts' growing family warm and well-entertained all Summer long. There are so many reasons I like reading the news on the Internet — it's free, it's up to-the-minute, and it's convenient. I don't even bother with sites that have a paid subscription service to view their content online, because I can usually get that news somewhere else. Sometimes I'm even too lazy to register to view a site.

I was shocked to read that Rupert Murdoch announced that the Wall Street Journal is going to remain a mainly subscription-only site. Many online newspapers (like the New York Times) have stopped the practice. It just feels like this is not the general direction that the Internet is heading, and that they're dragging their feet.

But it makes me curious — do any of you pay to subscribe to websites?
