How Many NookColors Have Been Sold?

In December, it was revealed that 18,000 NookColors were produced every day.

In December, it was revealed that 18,000 NookColors were produced every day. Powered by Android, the $249 tablets function sort of similarly to many of the other, more expensive tablets without the huge price tag. And while they'll never have the full functionality of, say, the Xoom, as ereaders go, it's powerful and worthwhile.

New estimates are predicting exactly how many have been sold since the device's November debut . . . can you guess how many have been sold?

Jessica Alba may be getting glammed up to walk the Golden Globes red carpet today, but she spent her Thursday morning running errands, and brought her new Nookcolor along for the ride. The new Nookcolor isn't just for reading books — the Android operating system makes it more like a tablet, and it comes with tons of cool kid-friendly features, which her daughter, Honor, should adore.

If you're a Nookcolor owner, you could emulate Jessica and rock the Montgomery Cover ($35), or choose from one of the many other stylish cases B&N has to offer. What about you — are you a Nook or Kindle kind of gal?

Barnes & Noble unveiled its new Nookcolor in October, and the device seems to be taking off. Despite the fact that Amazon's Kindle continues to set sales records, Barnes & Noble is proceeding full speed ahead with Nookcolor production. Perhaps in anticipation of the popularity of Google's eBookstore?

The devices are manufactured in China and then flown to the US for distribution. Can you guess how many Nookcolors are produced in just one day?

B&N Nook Ereader Gets Interactive With Nook Kids

The iPad may be the tablet of choice for celebribabies and everyday parents alike, but Barnes & Noble is trying to get in on some of the tablet action with its new Nookcolor.

The iPad may be the tablet of choice for celebribabies and everyday parents alike, but Barnes & Noble is trying to get in on some of the tablet action with its new Nookcolor. Coming with a nice 7-inch touchscreen, the Nookcolor is a fraction of the cost of a pricey iPad at $249, so it's a great choice for budget-minded parents and still allows you and your little ones to read together, even letting them interact with the pictures on the screen — something you can't get with a traditional paperback.
Alongside its new ereader, Barnes & Noble also launched Nook Kids yesterday, a virtual bookstore filled with children's classics, new favorites, and picture books that will come to life with a touch of your hand. Find out why you (and your kids) will love this new feature when you read more.
