Ghostwire For Your DSi Looks Freaky, Fun: Are You Into It?

If you like SciFi's Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, and hey, maybe even The Ghost Whisperer, then you're going to love the latest game slated to hit the DSi Store later this year.

If you like SciFi's Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, and hey, maybe even The Ghost Whisperer, then you're going to love the latest game slated to hit the DSi Store later this year. Called Ghostwire, this game uses your Nintendo DSi's cameras to search your pad for spirits, apparitions, and EMF's so you can be your very own Ghostbuster. I love ghost stories, and this game brings them to life since you can pan around your room, suddenly see a ghostly figure hanging out by your closet, then poof! It's gone. Kinda freaky, and yet, kinda fun. I'd recommend this game for your (or your 12 year old's) next sleepover for a modern-day twist on the Ouija Board. Yeah, I said it, Ouija.

Check out the Swedish trailer for the game above (which is available for their cell phones and hand-held devices) to get a glimpse of what it will look like on your DSi. Leave a night light on tonight if you have to (no one will hold it against you) then tell me: would you play Ghostwire?

Personal Trainer: Walking Hits Stores May 26

Nintendo is really trying to get us in shape for Summer!

Nintendo is really trying to get us in shape for Summer! Set to make its official debut on May 26 here in the US, Personal Trainer: Walking works by sending data between a wireless activity pedometer (which you can place anywhere — even inside a bag!) and the infrared game card in your Nintendo DS or DSi to track your walking progress.

Your DS will record your daily step count, minute by minute, so you can always go back and see your activity level. And because the card can store up to five years of records, you'll see if you're improving from year to year!

Personal Trainer: Walking costs $49.99.

Art Style: Aquia Review — Challenging and Addictive

On Sunday, I spent 500 of my free DSi points on Art Style: Aquia, the Tetris, Bejeweled, Meteos mash-up that has you putting rows of same-colored blocks together in order to make them disappear.

On Sunday, I spent 500 of my free DSi points on Art Style: Aquia, the Tetris, Bejeweled, Meteos mash-up that has you putting rows of same-colored blocks together in order to make them disappear. I knew the game would be fun, since I'm such a big fan of Tetris and Meteos, but I didn't realize how addictive it would be.

Not only are you being timed, but your goal is to help your undersea diver to get to the bottom of the ocean. With every second that ticks by, your diver is using up air, so you need to work fast. But if you aren't fast enough, the screen starts to turn black, meaning your diver is losing oxygen. It's a twist that gets your fingers — and your mind — working.

It may be fun, but to see the one thing that irks me about Art Style: Aquia, just read more

Make Your DSi's Camera More Effective With a Flash

Although the DSi isn't available in stores yet, the accessories are already rolling in.

Although the DSi isn't available in stores yet, the accessories are already rolling in. Sure there are some cases, some "starter kits" coming with extra accessories, but what about something that actually improves your DSi?

Check out this Dreamgear 3-in-1 Flash Cover— not only does it protect your brand new DSi from scratches and scrapes, but it also covers your outside lens when not in use (to prevent damage), and provides a bright flash for the camera.

This way, you can take pics in a less than well-lit room, and maybe even get a few good shots at night. And really, at $14 dollars, you really can't go wrong here.

Special Delivery: An Early Look at the Nintendo DSi

As you know, I've been anxiously waiting for the arrival of the Nintendo DSi (which comes out this Sunday), but lo and behold, I got a special delivery in the office yesterday: a Nintendo DSi cake and the DSi itself!

As you know, I've been anxiously waiting for the arrival of the Nintendo DSi (which comes out this Sunday), but lo and behold, I got a special delivery in the office yesterday: a Nintendo DSi cake and the DSi itself! After taking in the craftsmanship of the cake, I dove into the DSi to take a few first impressions.

Right off the top? The DSi's looks haven't changed much from its predecessor — it is a bit lighter, but definitely feels more rugged with its matte finish. As expected, the dual screens have a richer color, and the two cameras (one facing you and one facing outward) take some pretty impressive photos for being just 0.3-megapixels. Actually, some of the funnest features of the camera come with the distortion and customization tools you can play around with, like turning your face into a kaleidoscope. It reminds me a lot of Photo Booth that comes standard with a Mac, and who knows how many hours I've spent playing around with that!

Although I wasn't able to test out the DSi Shop or buy any games with my 1000 free Shop points (it goes live April 5), I had no problem picking up Sugar HQ's WiFi signal, which is a good sign for online play and downloading. To see more photos of the new DSi, hear about some of my other favorite features, and check out some shots of the geeksugar DSi cake that Nintendo sent over, just read more

Nintendo's DSi Shop Gets Prices, More Details

More details about the DSi were announced during the Game Developers Conference today, including the consoles downloadable content prices.

More details about the DSi were announced during the Game Developers Conference today, including the consoles downloadable content prices. The DSi Shop will allow you to download tons of games through your wireless connection, which will cost anywhere from 0 - 2000 points per game. The point-to-dollar system seems pretty standard (and perfectly reasonable) with 100 points costing one dollar.

There is some bad news coming for you Game Boy Advance fans with this new console roll out: your GBA cartridges will no longer work in the DSi like they did on the DS and DS Lite. However, to make up for it (and to encourage early adoption), Nintendo is tossing in a free 1000 points to all you gamers that pick up the DSi before October. That way, you can download your favorites so you don't go through GBA withdrawals. They are the classics, you know.

Beyonce Unleashes Her Inner Gamer For New DSi Commercial

Beyonce is already a well-known singer, dancer, and actress, but can we add gamer to the list?

Beyonce is already a well-known singer, dancer, and actress, but can we add gamer to the list? Well, since she has just been tapped to star in a Nintendo DSi commercial for the latest game to hit the console, Rhythm Heaven (which is due to hit shelves April 5), I would say the answer is yes! Not only is the game totally appropriate for the music queen, but according to an interview in Entertainment Weekly, she's an avid gamer even when away from the cameras:

On why she loves playing Rhythm Heaven: I have been having a great time. I've been rehearsing for my [upcoming] tour in stilettos and uncomfortable corsets, learning all these arrangements. Today I was playing the game with my socks on, on the couch, and it was very relaxing!
