Earlier this month, GeekSugar posted a story about LittleBigPlanet "live" avatars, which made me even more anxious for my awaiting Amazon order. And what was I eagerly waiting for you might ask? Well, I was waiting for him.

Meet my Sackboy — soon to be general travel companion and fellow life liver-er. I hope you catch my drift. Because I travel a lot for work, I usually find it difficult to want to take pics of me in certain places without either having to ask someone around to take a pic (and even then it's a bit awkward since it's a pic of just you) or to perform that strange semi-contortionist move of outstretching one's arm out long enough to not be too close-up and angled in the way that angle of the camera doesn't capture you in a "fat face" pose.

To hear more about missiza's Sackboy, and to check out photos of their travels, just read on.

LittleBigPlanet Fan Brings Sackboy Avatar to Life

We've all been aching to get our hands on a real-life LittleBigPlanet Sackboy ever since the game hit the PS3, and although you can find some pretty great replicas on sites like Etsy, you can't get a custom LBP avatar.

We've all been aching to get our hands on a real-life LittleBigPlanet Sackboy ever since the game hit the PS3, and although you can find some pretty great replicas on sites like Etsy, you can't get a custom LBP avatar. Trust me, I've looked.

It's this dilemma that sent LBP fan and Media Molecule forum poster, TeaBaG, on a mission to create his own avatar from scratch. His customized pumpkin head real-life Sackboy looks identical to the one he created in the game. To see some before and after pics, and to find out what materials he used to make his avatar, just read more.

PSP vs. PSP Go: Which Is Better?

I got the chance to check out LittleBigPlanet on the PSP yesterday, and put it to a head-to-head test on Sony's latest console, the PSP Go.

I got the chance to check out LittleBigPlanet on the PSP yesterday, and put it to a head-to-head test on Sony's latest console, the PSP Go. So after fiddling around with both for a few minutes, I asked myself: "Which is better?" It's really hard to say. I mean, you'd think that moving from one PSP to the other would be as simple as moving from the DS to the DS Lite, but then, you would be wrong.

The PSP Go is notably more compact than the PSP, making the controls closer together, which is perfect for smaller, ahem, more feminine or childlike hands. Good marketing ploy perhaps? Either way, the PSP Go has an amazing screen, is 40 percent lighter than the old version, has the same general control layout, 16 GB of on-board memory, and an online shop to download games straight to your console.

But getting down to the nuts and bolts, which of the two PSPs is more comfy to play with? Find out my take when you read more

LittleBigPlanet Takes Four Developers Choice Awards at GDC

Although it wasn't your favorite game of last year, we all know that LittleBigPlanet is an amazing (and adorable) game.

Although it wasn't your favorite game of last year, we all know that LittleBigPlanet is an amazing (and adorable) game. So it's only natural that at this year's Game Developers Conference, it was rewarded with four Game Developers Choice awards including Best Game Design, Best Technology, Best Debut, and Innovation.

Those little sackboys worked their way into our hearts, and personally, I still can't get enough of them! Also taking home awards are Fallout 3 for Best Writing, and Dead Space for Best Audio. I can totally agree with that last one — have you played Dead Space yet? It's pretty darn creepy and the sounds definitely add something to the game. However, I am a bit disappointed that Patapon didn't take the award for Best Handheld (it went to God of War: Chains of Olympus), as it was by far my favorite PSP game of last year. But hey, I guess I'm partial.

Make Your Own Little Big Planet Sackboy!

Little Big Planet had to be one of my most anticipated game releases this year.

Little Big Planet had to be one of my most anticipated game releases this year. So while I was waiting around for it to hit the shelves, I would peruse the Media Molecule blog (the guys and gals who brought us the game) to see if I could find any cool news or interesting screenshots.

Although there were plenty of news bits, the single most amazing post on their blog had to be the homemade Sackboy lovingly knitted by a MM employee's mom.

Since then, I've been kind of obsessed with either figuring out a way to make my very own, or hoping that someone else would do the hard work for me so I can just buy one. Fortunately, I've found a bit of a compromise in the knitting pattern printed in issue 49 of the UK's Simply Knitting Magazine.

According to Kotaku, the pattern will also be printed in several other magazines that are sold all over the world. Although I can't claim to be a knitter, I'm heading to the closest bookstore now to get my hands on this pattern!
