When two new mothers, both natives of South Germany, met in NYC, they bonded over their shared fondness for simple, high-quality children's clothing. One of them, Simone, has a background in fashion design, while the other, Heike, contributes her experience in the world of eco-friendly nonprofits. Together, the women joined forces to form Kindred. In addition to producing the most beautiful, European-style, one-of-a-kind kids finds, Kindred offers a custom design service that merges innovation and tradition.
The way the process works is that you send Kindred a piece of fabric or a favorite preexisting garment, choose a silhouette from their collection, and within four weeks, you'll have a reimagined, completely custom piece of clothing for your child. The process, which starts at $175, doesn't come cheap, but the heirloom-quality product is something that you'll be able to pass down for generations . . . a concept we can surely get behind.
