Halo 3

In its first week of hitting store shelves, Microsoft's Halo 3 has generated global sales of $300 million—breaking sales records for video games in its first week. Already 2.7 million gamers have played Halo 3 over Xbox live, surviving missions while passing through futuristic landscapes.

According to Kickette, David Beckham was out in full force when Halo 3 was released last week. He not only purchased a copy for himself and his little Becks, but for the twenty geeky gamers waiting in line with him—aaahhhh! Now if only we could see him in gaming-action like Zac Efron, that would be totally geekalicious!

Now I understand why Zac Efron likes to spend "nights-in" with his gal pal Vanessa—he's an avid gamer! The High School Musical star stepped out in cutey patootey form at the GameStop store on Monday. Hollywood Halo fans like Napoleon Dynamite's Jon Heder, Geoffrey Rush, Aisha Tyler, Dane Cook and Brody Jenner showed up at red carpet sneak peek event for Halo 3 for Xbox 360 this week and got a chance to test out the much-anticipated game. Just like the previous Halo games, Halo 3 is a first-person shooter game. Apparently in this edition Master Chief is back on a thoroughly conquered and Covenant controlled Earth.

The game won't be out until Sep 25, but it is rumored to be the last in the Halo series (the developers made an unofficial announcement) so there is all kinds of buzz about whether or not it will beat out the success of the previous editions. Right now "non-celebrity" beta testers are having a go with the multi-player component of the game. If you can't wait any longer you can pre-order it online.
