As expected, GameStop will be hosting a midnight launch for God of War 3 so gaming geeks all over the country can be one of the first to dive into the epic action-adventure title. Although my preferred method of getting a game I really want is to sit back and order it on Amazon (hoping for a release-day arrival), this release party may be worth crashing for the costume contest alone. Geeks huddled around a game store in the middle of the night, dressed as Kratos? Scary, but it's kind of a can't miss.
In case you haven't heard the buzz, God of War III is coming out this month, and it's going to be epic. Although Kratos (the main character) gives me the willies, I'm totally down to slash and burn with the best of them. I understand that gaming has traditionally been a "man's world," so to speak, but I couldn't help but chuckle at the newest ad for the title, which is slated to start airing later this week. The premise is funny, but seriously — how many of you gals out there are going to be battling your BF for the controller!? Check out the commercial and then tell me: are you playing God of War III when it's released on March 16?
2010 is in full effect, and I couldn't be more excited for the gadgets, gizmos and games that will be making their way onto shelves and into homes this year. I'm especially stoked for a few of these titles which are sure to be big hits in the gaming world, so keep an eye out for these games during your trips to the game store.
