Test Your Celebrity Face Recognition Skills

I am not a visual person.

I am not a visual person. Instead of remembering faces, I remember names. It's like I retain what I hear, but not what I see. So I didn't expect to fare too well on this famous faces test, and I really didn't at 79 percent. Though I expected worse!

At first it's like ridiculously simple, and I imagine many of you will get 100 percent without having to think twice. But about three-quarters of the way through, it was like whatever region of the brain stores celebrity gossip was taxed. I could recognize the face but not connect the name. Maybe I just got lazy?

Anyway, now I want to hear how you all do. The three faces above are samples from the actual quiz — ridiculously easy, right? That's what I said. Go take it, and come back to tell us your results.

Untagged Photos of You on Facebook? Face.com Will Find You

Remember that time I reminded you to tag yourself on Facebook and many of you said that you often deliberately did not tag yourself, or sometimes even untagged yourself?

Remember that time I reminded you to tag yourself on Facebook and many of you said that you often deliberately did not tag yourself, or sometimes even untagged yourself?

Well, a new Facebook app by Face.com uses face-recognition technology to identify photos of your contacts on Facebook.

It searches tagged and untagged photos, which is cool if you're the one looking, but if you've ever untagged an embarrassing photo of yourself that one of your friends has posted, your contacts will be able to find it and see it using this app.

Hopefully there aren't too many blackmail-worthy photos of you online!

Google Adds Facial Recognition To Image Search

You've got to give this a try.

You've got to give this a try. It's almost as cool as Google's new streetside views feature, although it's a secret that's been kept on the down low. Say you want to find pictures of Hayden Panettiere (aka Claire Bennet) from the show "Heroes". You type in Claire Heroes in the Google Image box and your results appear. Now say you just wanted pictures of Hayden's face. By simply adding &imgtype=face to the end of your Google Image search URL, your new search will only provide headshots of Hayden. The official Google Blog claims that this new facial recognition software will "make it a lot easier for you to organize and find the photos you care about." Stay tuned for more stalkerish updates associated with this new recognition tool.
