For the Mac Office: Mac Shortcut Posters From Etsy

Whenever I come across something like these adorably geeky Shortcut Posters ($20 each) from Etsy shop birdAve, it makes me want to redecorate my home office ASAP.

Whenever I come across something like these adorably geeky Shortcut Posters ($20 each) from Etsy shop birdAve, it makes me want to redecorate my home office ASAP.

Although I have most of these Mac shortcuts memorized, I wouldn't mind them hanging on my wall to add a touch of tech flavor and color to an otherwise bare room. I'll admit that I haven't done much in the way of decorating my own home office, but I'd love to get some inspiration from you — won't you share your home office (or work office) designs with me in our Capture Your Cube group? Also, if you have any office design tips, leave 'em here in the comments!

I like to be able to move things around on my computer, so having two screens always open on my desk gives me even more space. I have a couple orchids on my desk as well just to add a little greenery and life to a very white space! What does your work space look like?

Take a Tour of Twitter's New Office Space

The first time we visited Twitter's new San Francisco office we were pretty jealous, and now that the company has expanded to take over another floor in its building, I'm even more green-eyed and envious of its geeky decor.

The first time we visited Twitter's new San Francisco office we were pretty jealous, and now that the company has expanded to take over another floor in its building, I'm even more green-eyed and envious of its geeky decor. Along with office space comes, of course, some awesome extras including a gorgeous kitchen, game room, yoga room, and fun, California-themed art. My personal favorite — the play on SF's 49 Mile Scenic Drive signs, which read "140 Mile Scenic Drive." (Get it? 140?) These photos come straight from a friend at Twitter HQ — enjoy!

Check out the photos of its newest office space below, then show us your own workspace in our Capture Your Cube group!

Spotted: Stephertiti's Space Invaders Decor

When community member Stephertiti submitted this photo to our Capture Your Cube group, I immediately went on a hunt for her awesome Space Invader wall decals.

When community member Stephertiti submitted this photo to our Capture Your Cube group, I immediately went on a hunt for her awesome Space Invader wall decals. Thankfully, there's more than one place to get these cute and colorful accents.

  • Think Geek! — The first place I head when I need something geeky is Think Geek! They're offering a pack of seven decals for $40.
  • Handmade at Etsy — Get a few options (at a lower price) over on Etsy. Grab a pack of 10 Invaders at 11-inches wide or pack of 20 at 7-inches wide for $26.
  • Patricia Field style — From styling the ladies of Sex and the City to your office walls, you can't go wrong with Patricia Field. The costume designer endorses these Blik decals, which come in a pack of eight for $46.

Decorate Your Office With a Tech-Oration Key Clock

I know, I'm a sucker for cute, kitschy items, but how adorable are these keyboard-inspired wall clocks?

I know, I'm a sucker for cute, kitschy items, but how adorable are these keyboard-inspired wall clocks? The Home Tech-Oration Clock in Enter and in Control ($20) are an affordable option perfect for decorating your geeky office. They're key-shaped, and the lime green of the Control clock is one of my favorite colors this Spring.

Capture Your Cube: kristyrk's Dual Desk

This post comes to us from Capture Your Cube member kristyrk: I recently moved into a new apartment, that for the first time, allowed me to have a proper office space.

This post comes to us from Capture Your Cube member kristyrk:

I recently moved into a new apartment, that for the first time, allowed me to have a proper office space. My fiancé and I both needed a space of our own (instead of sharing a single desk), since we often are working from home at the same time. We decided to go with a long desk that ran the length of our den wall, and separate the space with a chic red file cabinet. The second shelf you see there is actually two Ikea wall shelves that we DIY'd with four small pipe-style feet we found in the marketplace. The whole setup cost under $250 (including the file cabinet).

We hooked up our speakers to run on either side, and I have a corkboard for any inspiration I get for our wedding planning, or general things I want to blog about. The glowing thing in the middle there is our external hard drive. My fiancé is rocking an iMac with a secondary monitor, and while I just use my laptop now, I am considering a second monitor for the shelf as well.

Capture Your Cube: paristam's Home Away From Home

Earlier this week I asked you to Capture Your Cube in our new community group, and I couldn't help but immediately share this awesome submission by paristam.

Earlier this week I asked you to Capture Your Cube in our new community group, and I couldn't help but immediately share this awesome submission by paristam. Her home away from home is perfectly Spring-like with the cool, blue-hued walls and the cheery flower decals. Plus, it seems that paristam isn't one to let a limited desk space hold her back from getting organized — she utilizes her office walls to post documents for easy access!
