Last night I was watching Gossip Girl re-runs online, and naturally was forced to watch short commercials during the show. God forbid I be torn from Chace Crawford for 24 seconds! Luckily, I was kind of entertained by a Maria Sharapova Canon Powershot commercial; not because I'm a fan, but because her dog, Dolce, becomes a bit of a camera whore when passersby fall in love with the pooch. While I was tuned in, I also noticed that the accent pillow on Sharapova's couch looked quite familiar. Where had I seen it? To find out, and to see the commercial video, read more
The Gifted Grandfather: Grandpa-to-Be
A newborn will melt many hearts, but none more than her grandfather's. This holiday season, wrap up a few gifts for the grandfather-in-training before the lil one wraps him around her finger.
- Even if he is not one to be outwardly mushy, he'll appreciate the book Life's Big Little Moments: Grandfathers & Grandchildren as he prepares for his family tree to grow.
- He's the only guy you know that still wears a tie to work every day. This Vineyard Vines Barefeet Tie will remind him of the child each time he loops it.
- He was the first family member to own a digital camera, but now it's clunky and nonoperational. A sleek new digital camera will give him, and his pictures, a much needed update.

Maria Serves up Diamond-Encrusted Cameras by Canon
Tennis star Maria Sharapova is quite the busy gal. Already one of the faces of Canon's PowerShot cameras, she now lends herself to a line of new cameras — the limited edition Canon Powershot Diamond Collection cameras.
To kick off the new collection, Canon is giving away five diamond-studded PowerShot SD1100 cameras (find contest on right side of the page) which feature 88 white diamonds totaling 2.22 carats each around the lens.
I can't imagine that these cameras come cheap, so even if you aren't thrilled about the idea of having a blinged-out camera, just imagine how much it's worth (hello — eBay?!).
Underwater Camera Cover - Chic and Practical
The first thing I saw when I entered the Macworld exhibit hall today was the Canon Waterproof Housing for Powershot Digital Cameras. Perhaps it caught me at a vulnerable moment (techie overload!), but I think this thing is fantastic!
According to the rep, the camera cover, $139.99, is incredibly popular with scuba diving types and nature photographers, but lots of people buy the covers for those Caribbean vacations. The completely waterproof case was designed specifically for Canon PowerShot S200 and S230 digital cameras and can work for depths of 100 feet or less. It also protects your camera against dirt or sand at the beach or on the hiking trail or at camp. Considering the investment we make on our digital cameras these days, this thing seems necessary if you're an outdoorsy-mermaid type.
