Make Your Pics, Videos and Tunes Playable on the Web

I've gotten in the habit of taking videos with my Canon camera.

I've gotten in the habit of taking videos with my Canon camera. Unfortunately they hardly ever make it past my desktop because I'm hesitant to post them on sites like YouTube (and have them available for the world to see). Well, I've just learned from Lifehacker that there's a new free service called Moonk that helps you embed various media types (photos, videos, or music) into chic looking flash players. Yes, now you can take all your files and quickly, and easily, turn them into web-friendly, playable files. Don't go overboard, but as a new user you get 500 MB of storage.

Geek Tip

Geek Tip: Manage Netflix From Your iPhone

Since you now know how to update your Netflix while on IMDB or Amazon, I thought I'd share another cool Netflix tip that you can use on your iPhone.

Since you now know how to update your Netflix while on IMDB or Amazon, I thought I'd share another cool Netflix tip that you can use on your iPhone. After I saw this new third-party iPhone application on Gizmodo, I just had to see what all the fuss was about. Created by Brent Jensen, iFlix will allow you to reorder, drag, drop, delete, and add items to your Netflix queue — straight from your iPhone. There is also a search function where you can check out the top one hundred movies and download their thumbnails. To download, click on the iFlix link above and click on the downloads tab on Google's code page from your iPhone. Keep in mind that it is still in beta, so you may experience a few bugs. Ready, set, Netflix, go! Source

Geek Tip: Spell Your Name In Flickr Letters

A guy named Erik Kastner has created a fun application with PHP and javascript that allows you to enter the letters of your name (it can be your name or any word you happen to like) and get a fun graphic made of flickr letters.

A guy named Erik Kastner has created a fun application with PHP and javascript that allows you to enter the letters of your name (it can be your name or any word you happen to like) and get a fun graphic made of flickr letters. Once you have submitted your name you are actually given an embed code, which you can put on your website or profile. If you do not have a website of TeamSugar profile, I suggest taking a screen shot of the image and saving it in your files. Try it out here.

Special thanks to WhiplashGirlchild for sharing this great tip! You can check out other examples from her blog.

GPS Notifies Your Friends/Boss When You're Late

If your commute, or inability to get out of bed when the alarm goes off makes you chronically late and leaves you in a daily text-messaging frenzy, you might want to consider the Oops I'm Late!

If your commute, or inability to get out of bed when the alarm goes off makes you chronically late and leaves you in a daily text-messaging frenzy, you might want to consider the Oops I'm Late! Professional for Smartphones. For $99.99 you can get the calendar integrated late notification that sends out notices based on your current GPS location. It's the geekiest alert system I can imagine, but will save you plenty of time and hassle.

The best part is you can set a single contact to your assistant, office manager or significant other, which can easily call on any phone number or mobile it's been assigned to contact. You won't have to look up contact information, event or location information.
