The Other Side of Photography: Golden Half 35mm Camera

I know I'm all about the digital, baby, but there's something about 35mm film that keeps me coming back for more.

I know I'm all about the digital, baby, but there's something about 35mm film that keeps me coming back for more. Take this Golden Half Camera ($55) that shoots two old-school images within one frame of film. I'm excited about this because it means you have not one, but two opportunities to capture something fantastic in each frame. Plus, doesn't the "come hither" packaging just make you drool?

The best part is, the pack includes a 36-exposure, 35mm roll of film so you can get started on capturing up to 72 incredible, lo-fi images right away, without a trip to your local photography store or your neighborhood Walgreens. Hopefully, they're both still carrying film these days. Check out some examples of what you can capture in the gallery below.

The LOMO Colorsplash Camera

Most of you loved the Lomolitos Colored Cameras, so I figured I'd share this updated version with not one, but a whopping thirteen colored filters!

Most of you loved the Lomolitos Colored Cameras, so I figured I'd share this updated version with not one, but a whopping thirteen colored filters! Featured on GeekAlerts, the Lomography Colorsplash 35MM Camera uses tinted flash filters and long exposure settings to create dreamy-streaked retro style images that are rich in color! For $50 you will get the camera, a battery, film, poster, extra color filters, and a skin camera bag. Although the possibilities are endless with digital cameras, I truly appreciate the simplicity of point-and-click cameras-especially when they are as fun as this one. Lomography Camera With Fisheye Lens

Whenever I try to take a picture of my parents' dog, he comes right up to the camera to sniff the lens, which gives him a magnified nose in the picture.

Whenever I try to take a picture of my parents' dog, he comes right up to the camera to sniff the lens, which gives him a magnified nose in the picture. I find it to be utterly endearing, so when I saw the Lomography Fisheye 35mm camera, which intentionally creates "fisheye" effect I was sold. This camera has a 170 degree view and compacts everything around you into a circular, distorted image. If you have a look at the picture samples after the jump, you'll see what I mean. The colored ones are hilarious while the black and white are really artsy and creative. Each camera uses old school 35mm film and comes with a built-in electronic flash. Price is $35. Do You Use A Digital or Film Camera?

When I came across this older (as in 2002) picture of Donatella Versace, Madonna, and Gwyneth Paltrow having some fun with Gwyneth's 35mm film camera, it brought me back to the days when I religiously carried my huge film cam to every party and function.

When I came across this older (as in 2002) picture of Donatella Versace, Madonna, and Gwyneth Paltrow having some fun with Gwyneth's 35mm film camera, it brought me back to the days when I religiously carried my huge film cam to every party and function. Now with digital cameras we have the freedom to take all the shots we want, view them, and delete the ones we don't like on the spot. I'm curious to know how many of you still use 35mm film cameras (hey, I'm not giving mine away any time soon)! And how many of you have completely switched over to the digital. Better yet, you might use a really expensive manual camera packed full of amazing features and functions! Either or, let me know below! Image Source
