New Details on the iWatch Are In — Is This What It Looks Like?

Jun 20 2014 - 11:22am

Just make our smartwatch dreams come true, Apple! The company filed for a watch-like patent [1] in February 2013 — and gadget geeks have been anticipating high-tech iOS arm candy for some time now.

Production for the watch will apparently begin in July [2], and sources at the manufacturing plant say that the device's display is rectangular, measures 2.5 inches diagonally, and features wireless charging capabilities.

It could be an efficient portal for Apple's new Health app [3], which launches with iOS 8 [4] in the Fall. The watch is rumored to have over 10 sensors [5], including ones that track health and fitness.

What could Jony Ive [6]-designed wearable tech look like? Many artists have taken a stab at imagining what Apple's iWatch would look like, but we think the concepts from these six studios are the closest to what will be the real thing.
