The iPod Touch Gets The Ultimate Scratch Test

Ever since I became the proud owner of an Apple iPhone, I've gone to great measures to make sure the screen stays protected from scratches.

Now I'm not exactly sure if the iPod Touch has the same screen exterior as the iPhone, but if it does I think it's safe to say that I don't have to worry about scratching my phone. This awesome video, which I spotted on techfresh, demonstrates the durability of the new iPod Touch's screen as it resists damage from keys, a pin and even a razor blade—proving that the screen is not as fragile as one might think. As for smudges, that's a whole other story!

He must be really brave... I've been babying mine but I guess I can relax a little bit. I'll still put it in a case to throw in my purse, but now maybe I won't flinch when I scratch it with my nail

I have one and bought a little red leather case to cover the metal part and ive thrown it in my purse and the screen hasn't been scratched at all...its amazing

LOL, yeah seriously. Give it to my 3 year old nephew for 20 minutes. It will be destroyed! Actually, it would probably be dropped into the toliet in the first 30 seconds. He's into that right now.

Hmm... I bet I could scratch it. Give it to my child. Then again, children shouldn't have expensive electronic gadgets to destroy. Yet, what I say is it didnt' seem that he gave much pressure with the objects to the screen. Have to see it done in person to really believe it.

Ehh, nothing new. I was at the Apple Genius bar a while back, getting my laptop looked at, when a bunch of people were pestering the employees about what to cover their iPhones with. Frustrated and annoyed, he pulled out his own iPhone and keys and showed the whole store how it wouldn't scratch as he rubbed his keys all over for it.

Ok so that is really cool! My phone is so scratched up from being in my purse. This would come in handy.

argh. i wish the touch screen on a nintendo ds would be as wonderfully scratch free as the apple touch's screen.

Honestly, thinking about trying this on my iPhone is giving me anxiety. Still, I am pretty sure that they picked this glass for a reason. I read that it is a special crystal that is very good at resisting scratches, but SMUDGES like crazy. So the real test is to swipe your finger across it after eating french fries. GO on, I dare you!

It's a pretty well known fact that metal scrapers and razor blades alone will not scratch glass. ;D However, abrasive materials, like sandpaper, CAN.Nice video guy.

i mean yeah its a good demonstration but um... yeah is that the same screen for the i phone how could we find out is anyone brave enough to do that to thier i phone ???
