Want to take your crush on John Krasinski creepily far? One day, you may be able to upload his face to your dating website of choice when you're looking for love and find the regular Joe who most closely resembles your celebrity crush. This is what Microsoft's new patent, called Image-Based Face Search will do — instead of entering age/religion/location, just browse for that Clooney pic you keep on your desktop and bam! Virtual George is in your hometown.

Does this make anyone else feel shallow and kinda dirty? And yet, I would be lying if I didn't tell you I was way past curious to see the local single men who resemble my beloved Jim Halpert. Dirty feeling or not, tell me whose picture you'd upload!

The Maxell electronics brand is one of those familiar household names that has been carried through many generations. Maxwell has just announced that it will end the production of CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and HD DVD discs by the end of the month.
Before I start sobbing like I did when Polaroid announced the closure of its last production plant, we can rest assured that the Maxell legacy will live on. Maxell is already planning to outsource to other companies, so this won't be the last we see of them just yet.
In honor of Maxell and their amazing products, especially their cassette tapes, which have a special place in my heart, here's a vintage Maxell ad, (George Michael vintage to be exact), to say farewell Maxell discs! To check it out, read more
Yep, it may be that beautiful time of year when the sun finally starts peeking its head out and the days get longer (sorry, East Coasters), but it's also that really crappy time of year when your heart starts to beat because you haven't filed your taxes yet. Beat no longer little hearts, and get it done online! Online tax services are usually free (or go up to around $15 or so, depending on your situation) and are fast and easy.
Turbo Tax is a tried and true online staple, but it can be a little confusing. H&R Block's site is a touch simpler and more user-friendly, but tends to cost slightly more than Turbo. After years of either paying over $100 to have my taxes done for me, or before that, doing them for free myself, by hand, I think online taxes are my happy medium. Trust me, get it done, get your refund, and breathe a giant sigh of relief.
Anyone else used an online tax service that they like?

Get your minds out of the gutter, he's doing crunches. This little USB puppy is working on his abs, even if you know, dogs don't normally need to get a six-pack in real life.
But you're in geekland now, honey, and if you want a USB Owl who just stares at you or a dog with less-than-clean intentions, then that's exactly what you'll get.
As for that dog, slow down, sweetheart! You've already got me beat.
If you’re an avid Yahoo! user, you've probably noticed a few new attractions on your homepage — including the very cool Yahoo! Buzz. This fun new feature highlights the most popular stories on the web at any given moment, as determined by people like you and me. The Sugar Network is honored to be one of 100+ publishers of top online content selected to be part of Yahoo! Buzz’s launch. Translation: We need your help to spread the word!
Wondering how Yahoo! Buzz works? A story's Buzz Score is based on your votes, searches and emails. The more a story's Buzz Score increases, the better chance it will appear on Yahoo!'s homepage. So if you see cool content on Sugar that you want to share with the world, just click the "Buzz up!" button at the bottom of the page and that story will get moved up in the site's rankings. If you’re already a Yahoo! user you don’t have to do anything else to vote. . . and if you aren’t, you’ll need to register with Yahoo! before getting your Buzz-on.
One of the most popular exhibits at CES this year was definitely the Microsoft Surface— a multi-touch interactive surface computer that is full of amazing features. Crave reports that the Surface was making its rounds at Caesars Pure Nightclub, with celebs like Jason Alexander and Shannon Elizabeth checking out its high tech functionality.
Set to be released by commercial partners like Starwood hotels this Spring, the Surface is already gaining lots of momentum. Not only is it receiving celebrity attention, but Firefly, the first game for Microsoft Surface has just been announced. Springtime is bad on the wallet — I'm shelling out for pedicures, sandals, floaty little dresses, and all in the name of not being able to wear dull neutrals as the sun comes out. I need bright, inspirational colors! So of course, I can't keep myself from wanting, and needing, a new bright floral laptop bag.
It's unfortunate that these Flicka Brief Bags made their way into my line of sight today, because I am powerless to resist them. I wouldn't even classify them as girly today — today, they are Spring! They are Happy! They are Now!
