Over the weekend I got a chance to plug in my coveted guitar, set up the drum kit, and wail on the mic during an intense Rock Band set. My pals and me were up far too late for my age (four in the morning!), but were having a blast nonetheless. With a quick systems update, I had my first taste of the in-game Rock Band store, which I have to say, rocks!
Gone are the days when you had to leave the game to find new tracks, now you can download them directly from the game. Plus, the store gives you previews of the songs, and difficulty ratings, so you know what you are getting yourself into. With the store having launched on PS3 consoles on March 21, then subsequently the Xbox 360 players, I am pretty behind on checking out the new layout. . . but I guess I'm better late than never! To see what I loved and didn't love about the new store, read more
Fresh, fun and functional is exactly what these Terry Daisy Laptop Cases are by Juicy. Each bag comes with a zip top, shoulder strap, and a front flap with wooden bead detail, so your laptop is sure to stay nice and protected in this cute carrying case. Choose from styles like pink plaid, topkapi (pink), or gray terry (polyester/cotton) with angel (white) leather trim. Each bag is priced at $125, which isn't too outrageous considering they're Juicy and totally adorable.
Here at Sugar HQ we're always looking for novel ways to entertain ourselves, especially the men, who decided it would be "fun" to bring a pair of Laser Tag Shocking Tanks into the office. I don't even think I can find the words to describe this so-called game, which is totally abusive and kinda fun all at the same time. . . maybe I should have paid closer attention to the "product emits an electric shock," "may interfere with electrical devices such as pacemakers" warnings on the box! The object of this $50 game? To shoot your opponent with your infra-red cannon, as LEDs built into the tanks indicate the score. And what happens when they are shot? Watch the video clip below to find out!
Mixing art with technology is exactly what Media Arts student Melanie Coles did for her graduating project. . . and it is bigger (literally) and better than most grad art assignments I've encountered (yes she deserves an A!). Melanie's project, entitled Where On Earth Is Waldo creates a Google Earth Where's Waldo inspired game. With the help of volunteers, Melanie and her team were able to create a gigantic Waldo painting to be placed on rooftops throughout Vancouver, Canada. The best part? Waldo will only be seen via Google Earth, so the entire world can play "Where's Waldo: Google Earth Edition" as well!
The project will be exhibited at the Emily Carr Graduation Exhibit 08 opening May 3, 2008.

Remember the rhinestone studded heart eardrops that seemed to take the world by storm? Well Elecom has just released their next set of bejeweled MP3 accessories, dubbed the Ear Drop Aqua series earphones. Boasting the usual heart-shaped design, these ear drops will be available in blue, white, and pink hues and will only weigh three grams (which is a huge plus in my book). Finally a new geek-chic product to get excited about, except this product is a "Japan only" specialty and will cost around $31 when released later this month. Would you consider purchasing if you could find online somewhere?
Oh, Joyce, aren't you too cute? She wants to be unsubscribed from "your" Internet because hers gets too full all the time.
She does have an email address, so I'm a little confused as to why she didn't just email this in, but then I'm actually not confused at all. It's crystal.
You know that this letter, posted on Neatorama, was totally written by someone's cute mom who's a little less than tech savvy. Is Joyce your mom? Or an awful lot like yours? Then please join our Funny Tech Stories group, and keep posting her letters!
