When Air France first announced that they would be rolling out an in-flight telephone service, I couldn't help but ask if you would want to talk on the phone in an airplane. Over seventy percent of you replied with a no because you wouldn't want to disturb anyone sitting near you.
Although many U.S. airlines have steered clear from offering cell phone use in airplanes for this very reason, Air France's in-flight calling service is now in full swing. Like anything else in its trial phase, there are certainly some glitches to iron out. According to The New York Times, a man who called Paris during an Air France flight could barely hear the other person and was told that he sounded like a small robot. The quality of technology that allows passengers to make and receive calls is said to need some improvement, and not only that, but on-board roaming charges cost about $5 a minute!
If you're lucky enough to be near an H&M, then I hope you've gone in and checked out the Marimekko line!
I have, and because I'm totally on a Marimekko kick right now, I found these awesome mouse pads bearing beautiful designs from my favorite Finnish design company.
The Unikko design (the flower) is out of stock now, but I had to include it, because it's a classic.
And honestly, I'm not really as into looking at mouse pads anymore, because I'm on my laptop a lot, but I am totally making an exception for these!
Last week's article in the NY Times about women posting their grievances online about their exes made me wonder where people are drawing the line at privacy anymore. One woman made a YouTube video divulging way too much information about her soon-to-be ex, and others are blogging about their breakups as they happen.
I'm all for catharsis, and these women may get some needed support, but I think they're revealing too much and putting themselves up for close scrutiny. I've always been cautious about even changing my relationship status on MySpace or Facebook, and not because I'm a commitment-phobe, but because it encourages an outpouring of messages and posts asking me about it, and you know what? It's exhausting and I don't feel like sharing these kinds of details with people I haven't seen in years — aside from their changing profile pictures.
But have you? Fess up — have you ever over-shared on your blog, social networking profile page, or gasp! YouTube?!
Just like me, this celeb has chosen to have her Titanium BlackBerry Curve right beside her at all times. Why have it hidden away in a handbag when it looks so chic and you're guaranteed not to miss a call or text message, right?! Any guesses as to who this famous female is? Scroll down to leaver your answer!
Before I even saw these pillows I knew that I'd love them considering they were designed by the Art Lebedev Studio — the same artistic genius behind the adorable byte-sized Babushka dolls. Embroidered with DOS directories, these Dosugus cushions will certainly bring any geek back in time, to the days before Windows (yes, computer life existed before then). And not only that, but for $36, they will also file away all your dreams on your C: directory!
Is it just me, or are the numbers of GPS horror stories increasing? Who can forget the man who drove his truck into a cherry tree, or the woman whose GPS led her directly into a river?! Crazy but all true! Well, here's another one for you (it looks serious, but thankfully there weren't any major injuries). According to the Seattle PI, a driver of a bus carrying a girls softball team hit this nine-foot bridge when a GPS navigation system routed him the wrong way. And yes, the driver just so happened to miss the ginormous yellow clearance sign on the side of the bridge (the bus measured 11 feet, eight inches high).
GPS units have certainly gotten me lost a few times, but — knock on wood — I haven't had any accidents because of them! Have you?
