Peter Rojas showed up in the pages of the June/July issue of ReadyMade to talk about RCRD LBL, his free-music website. This endeavor, combined with his status as the founder of both Engadget and Gizmodo, puts him in a place of deep respect for me, but also — and I'm trying to make sure I say this with great dignity and professionalism — Crush Status. Our geeky Romeo is taken, but at least it's to a worthy match: Green, geeky gal Jill Fehrenbacher.
Getting back to business, Rojas talks about the need for RCRD LBL because "people in the music industry try to pretend that the rules of the Internet don't apply to them," but Rojas saw that he could give away free songs as long as it was subsidized by advertising. RCRD LBL pays the (finely edited) artists directly, so they can offer "great music every day," and. . . Oh, what was I saying? I got lost in those brown eyes again.
Whether you pick a
geeky honeymoon destination, or just a place to lie down in the sun or play tourist, you'll be needing some electronics to go with you. You need stuff for the duration of your stay, like music, and stuff to help create the memories that you'll re-live after you return home. Check out my slideshow for suggestions for your honeymoon's gadgets!

As much fun as planning a trip can be, there's always so much stress and worry when it comes to prices. Am I getting a deal? Will flight prices go down? Should I book last minute? Another reason why I absolutely love technology — enough with the travel booking stress! Farecast and Kayak are great for getting price alerts on flights, but what if you want an alert service that basically acts as your own travel agent, you've got to check out Hotwire's latest feature (it just launched yesterday!) Trip Watcher.

With Trip Watcher you can watch specific travel itineraries and get email alerts about price drops for hotel rooms, car rentals and airfares. Just input dates (can be up to a sixty day range), destination, possible airports and Trip Watcher will compare them with all of their Hotwire itineraries. Once your Trip Watcher page is set up (you can include up to 25 trips), there will be a running history of your requested dates and destinations, plus the prices changes for each!
If you can't get enough of Second Life or Sims-like games where you're challenged to create an avatar and personality that succeeds in a virtual world, AND you also happen to be obsessed with one day running your own beauty product factory and company, then I've got the ultimate niche video game for you: Beauty Factory.

When I first glanced at the game, I assumed it was a video game with challenges like, "Coordinate the Lip Gloss to the Nail Polish," or "Ultimate Smoky Eye Challenge," but when I saw the tag line, "Girls just wanna have business," I realized my mistake. Beauty Factory is an exercise in being a cosmetics industry mogul, and has more to do with marketing and innovating than mascara and eye shadow application.
Build up your cosmetics empire, check in on the scientists formulating the perfect concealer, and prove you're more than one kind of Mac girl!
I swear, when it comes to gaming, anything related to sports is always an instant hit — well, that and anything with the word Mario in its title, naturally. Last week we met up with Anthony DeLuca of 2K sports, and a producer of the new tennis game Top Spin 3, which goes on sale today. If you've ever played Wii Tennis, Top Spin 3 is comparable, yet it's much more of a visual and realistic gaming experience. Created for the Wii ($50), Xbox 360 ($60), PlayStation 3 ($60) and Nintendo DS ($30), Top Spin 3 features stunning graphics, improved audio, and a selection of top ranked tennis pro players like Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer and Monica Seles, so you can really get your game on!

Top Spin 3 For the Wii: With the Wii version of Top Spin 3 you can choose from 16 licensed players on 10 real-world venues to play from and during game play, you hold the wiimote exactly as you would a tennis racket. It also comes with some fun party games. The not-so-hot? To continue reading my review, just read more
