We've never been shy about our love for geeky accessories, but we draw the line with wearing our cell phones on our hips. Apparently, not everyone in Hollywood agrees — we've spotted quite a few celebrities rocking their BlackBerrys and cell phones on their belt loops in the last year. Can you guess what celebrities wear their phones on their hip? Take my quiz and find out!
Question 1 of 4
Guess which famous female was spotted sporting a cell phone on her shorts while filming her new movie in New York City?
Being able to find beauty in the everyday is a necessary skill for modern artists, and the painter of this iPod still life definitely understands that.
Few people would stop and appreciate a gadget these days — in fact, some aesthetes would turn their noses up at the suggestion of a piece of tech being beautiful, but I certainly don't feel that way. I admire people like Steve Jobs because they recognize that practical items don't have to be purely functional; design and attractiveness are taken into account.
So now I just need to hunt down a bare piece of wall in my apartment, as well as a reasonable facsimile of this on Etsy!
Why use only one cell phone, when you can use two, right? I guess this famous female has learned a thing or two from cell phone obsessed Eve who carries around both her iPhone and gold BlackBerry Curve. Hey, I'm not one to judge, I do the exact same thing, except both are hidden in the deep dark pockets of my handbag. Why she has two Curves totally beats me. Maybe the silver is for business and the red for pleasure? Any guesses as to who it is?
Whether it be the fiber optic heart pillows or the REi Huggable Pillow, pillows and geeks go hand-in-hand, and this one is no exception. The Interactive Pillows from Design Goteborg are actually wired with electroluminescent wire that enables the pillows to connect to a communication service (wirelessly) and interact with other wired pillows. When a pillow is touched, hugged or leaned against, it will activate the pattern on the other pillow to glow and will change with various movements. Definitely an interesting way to "keep in touch" with a loved one. In the meantime, I'll stick with my trusty cell phone.
I know, getting constant updates in your RSS reader with the 99-cent movie of the week on iTunes is pretty sweet and such a nice surprise. But what if you could easily check out all the free video downloads from iTunes? Yes you heard correctly — free downloads on iTunes, they do exist! Apple's iTunes Store is finally aggregating all of their free video content in one handy spot, so you can find the goods quicker and easier.
There aren't a ton of videos to choose from - yet - so let's keep our fingers crossed that Apple adds some more to their $0 line-up! To access the videos, go to the iTunes store and click on TV shows. Once you're on the TV page, scroll down to find the "Free On iTunes" content. Keep in mind that the free downloads are currently only available to US residents.
Though I dragged my feet a little right before I converted from reading my blogs on their native pages to an RSS Reader, I could never go back. Sure, there are some sites I still enjoy going to and getting the "full experience," but I read almost all my blogs on Google Reader.
I have even found workarounds for stuff like getting the blog design or not leaving Reader to read the comments on a post with Better GReader. I'm a total convert, and I'm always trying to convince my friends who are still reading blogs the old-fashioned way. So are you devoted to RSS too, or are you not ready for the change?
JoJo Designs' Carrie Laptop Bag is the kind of summery laptop bag I need; in lightweight canvas, it would be light enough to toss my laptop into, along with sunny day essentials like my sunglasses, water, etc.
Its lightness belies its durability — just check out the cross-section photo of the bag loaded up with computer, books, and everything; of course, in the event that you do overload, they include a handy-dandy optional shoulder-strap.
