I love typing in www.google.con or yelp.lom to be told that the address cannot be found. I freak out, tell Firefox it's an idiot, and then head to downforeveryoneorjustme.con, at which point I develop an ulcer until I realize that it was just my butterfingers making me enter typos into the address bar.
URL Fixer is like my Zen-master — it keeps me calm by fixing my misspelled urls. After you tell it to confirm confirmations, you'll get a pop up asking you if you meant their suggestion (which appear to be pretty accurate so far!). Butterfingers, you've met your match.
What if you could pop-and-lock your way to a greener future? A nightclub in Britain, that's opening in July, is installing a dance floor that will generate the electricity to power the club! As people dance, the floor bounces slightly, pushing on blocks that power the current for constantly recharging batteries. The batteries then run to provide energy to parts of the club, like the lights and audio. I would totally shake my thang for the Earth!
If only they could just figure out a way to use the power generated by my DDR usage. . .
I know it's long over, but when I recently did a post about Logan's geekiness, many of you seemed to miss Gilmore Girls as much as I do. Like I said, I've been re-watching the show, and that's why I'm more than ready to present to you, the Gilmore Girls tech quiz!
The Gilmore ladies were actually pretty tech-savvy, with Rory being an old-school geek, and these two needed their cell phones, TVs and DVD players almost as much as they needed each other. See how much you remember from one of the best shows. . . ever!
The latest news from ComScore reveals that Facebook is beating MySpace worldwide for the first time. I've been trying to figure out why, necessarily, in terms of why people choose either site to social network.
I myself have profiles on both sites, as I signed up for a MySpace page in 2003, and when Facebook started, when it was only accessible to those with school emails (which I didn't have anymore and was a little turned off by that requirement), I waited awhile, but eventually caved since I had friends on Facebook (which is why I still begrudgingly keep both profiles). What about you? Are you supporting Facebook or MySpace with your usage?
Because I don't have a car (public transportation all the way!), I haven't jumped on the GPS train as quickly as everyone else. But when I do get behind the wheel, there's nothing more satisfying than knowing there's a slim to nil chance I'm going to get lost. I've used GPS devices before, and I love them! If you've just picked up a new phone that doesn't have GPS or you don't plan on getting an iPhone 3G, here's a great option — the TeleNav GPS Navigator. After a quick install of the TeleNav software, enabling Bluetooth on my BlackBerry Curve, and making sure the pocket-sized Navigator receiver was juiced-up, I was ready to put it to the test.
If you've used a GPS device before, you'll find TeleNav's Navigator a breeze to use. Input an address for driving directions, or use it to get traffic and gas price info, or to find shops, WiFi hotspots, restaurants and hotels. The Navigator provides directions by both voice and with colored maps on your phone's screen.
