Iwata admitted there is a dire need for quality games like Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii, which I have to totally agree with, since the sub-par mass of third party games and movie tie-ins are getting a bit old. Although he didn't reveal any other info, I'm totally stoked already! Bring on more Mario!
My apartment is flooded with power cords, extension cords, power bars, and multi-outlet adapters, you name it, I got it. As unaesthetically appealing as they are, I can't seem to find a chic alternative to keeping my larger gadgets like my computer and laptop juiced up. Well now there is an alternative, the WirePod!
Designed by Joris Laarman, the WirePod is the first piece in Artecnica’s Wiremore collection that offers a flexible gray extension cord for all your charging needs. This three-prong plug branches out into four curled arms, and each arm includes a single three-prong socket for your gadgets. Twist and turn the cord any which way you like for an artsy design. Check out some designs below!
By accessing a map on your mobile device, or checking out digital maps on special street signs, you can cruise right over to an open spot nearby, and hopefully use less gas in the process.
Currently in its "beta" phase, it sounds like an awesome idea to relieve some road rage. . . in theory. Since I don't own a car, I don't feel the pain that trying to find parking can bring on a regular basis, and it kinda sounds like trouble to me. Imagine five frustrated drivers going for a spot at the same time, trying to snatch it up before anyone else. You catch my drift. So what do you think? Wireless Parking Sensors, yay or nay?
California's hands-free wireless telephone law may have taken effect July 1, but celebs like Seal and David Beckham were already ready for the big day since they are both avid bluetooth headset users. "Whenever I’m driving around L.A. or heading to practice, I use my Motorola H12 to keep me connected to my mobile phone," says Beckham.
Not only is David loving his Motopure H12 Bluetooth headset that comes with CrystalTalk - special noise cancellation technology for superior audio clarity - but he is also a fan of another Motorola product, the RAZR 2 — we could seriously start calling him the McSteamy of tech!
It doesn't take a gadget freak to appreciate the art that technology can be — now I have legitimate art-world backup! San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art has put Mac products from the past and present on display.
Warning: If you're sick of the iPhone, then stay away from the SFMOMA, because the curators have deemed its design an artistic marvel and have featured it prominently, under a glass box (which I have thought about doing, but you know, I needed that whole functionality thing). Also on display is 2000-era Power Mac G4 Cube.
The Apple products are part of the 246 and Counting exhibit, which showcases architectural drawings, furniture, books, and industrial-design products (hence the Apple stuff).
But you didn't have to tell me; I already thought they were beautiful.
It's very hard to fault an eco company who's doing right in the world by making products out of green and recycled products. But, it can also be very hard to find a green design that agrees with you.
Such is my issue with BeGoodDesign's recycled leather laptop bag. I love the concept — a laptop bag crafted out of the leather pulled from old car seats — but the looks, I'm not so sure I'm into. Maybe it's the checkerboard. What do you think of it?
One smaller (yet totally entertaining) feature about the Wii is the Everybody Votes Channel. I like to spend a few minutes every time I spin up my Wii to update votes and see the outcome of the closed topics. Usually, topics can range from "which color do you prefer" to "which sport is more entertaining?" You know, simple stuff.
In a similar fashion, BuzzDash brings the voting fun to your browser. Choose from topics like entertainment, sports, politics, and business, and just click to add your vote to any number of questions called "BuzzBites." Plus, you can even submit your own BuzzBites to find out how many people prefer playing on an XBox over a PSP or Gamecube, and even create custom BuzzBites for your web pages. What's the point of all this? I dunno, but it's fun anyway! Perhaps BuzzDash will help get you warmed up for the really important vote coming this November, eh?
