With the 2008 Summer Olympics kicking off today in Beijing, China, I'm sure you're eager to check out live coverage and highlights from the games. Why stress about setting your TiVo on timers when you can catch everything online? That's right, from NBC to YouTube, the Internet has got you covered. Check out my slideshow to see where you can find video clips, cool downloads and even games!
When I first saw this Knitted Power Cord ($25), I thought it was a fabulously crafty way to hide my tangle of cords at home, which I am always hunting for a solution to, but alas, this is more fashion than function.
The seller suggests you wear it as a skinny scarf or a belt (which I actually don't hate the idea of), but I was also thinking of using it as a particularly geeky curtain tieback.
What do you think of it? Do you have enough power cords in your life, or do you welcome this homage to electricity?
Oh yeah, this is better than driving with a cell phone to your ear. When exactly would you use this Hair Dryer Cell Phone Headset ($8)? Seeing as though it doesn't make your hands free, driving is out, and on that same token, you can't clean the house while talking to your mom on the phone. . . think, think, think. . .
I've got it. Teenagers with a cell phone curfew! Supposed to be off the phone? "I'm not on the phone, ma, I'm just drying my hair!" Recommended: Turning on an actual hair dryer to obscure the conversation.
Change can be hard. Maybe, for instance, you committed to an RSS Reader early on and then decided to switch to a different RSS Reader later on. I'm not here to judge — just to guide.
If you happen to be dying to make the switch to Google Reader from another RSS (maybe you heard how fan-freaking-tastic Better GReader makes it), then I bet you're also saying, "yes, I would love to switch, but what about all my feeds?!" That's a valid complaint, especially if you have upwards of 100 feeds, as so many of you do.
Look, I don't have time to be on any sort of waiting list (unless Nintendo or Apple release something else, then we're talking) or, you know, the $4,000+ it takes to have a real Kelly or Birkin bag by Hermès.
Turns out that it's a good time to be a geek, because high-end designers are recognizing their wired admirers — the other day, Chanel released their own app, and now Hermès wants you to have your own low-budget Kelly — by downloading it!
If you're down with papercrafts but wish your crafts ended up more Upper East Side than the monsters from Gobeesta, then download this from Hermès' website by clicking "I want it" (of course you do). Proceed as you would any papercraft — that is, cut, glue/tape, and then color to your heart's desire. Look at you — a free, custom Hermès!

We all spend so much time searching the net for various things, so why not use a search engine that actually donates money to your favorite charity while you search? With GoodSearch, all you have to do is enter your search terms and pick an NGO of your choice and they'll donate to that charity each time you do a search! Here's the 4-1-1: The site will donate $.01 to your charity for each search, 50 percent of their revenue goes to the NGOs listed on the site, and their primary search engine is Yahoo — which may take a bit of getting use to. But all in all, it's totally legit, and at least you're giving back while doing something you do on the net anyways!
