I turned my back on stuffed animals ages ago — a row of beloved childhood friends on the bed is not exactly equivalent to Spanish fly — but I may go back on that, just this once, for this little lady!
The rabble-rouser turning my principles upside down is this cuddly stuffed robot — endearingly named "Polar-Roid," made by Etsy seller Littlbrownbyrd, whose specialty appears to be heart-stealing stuffed robots. Little Polar-Roid is my favorite though; look at that face (if you can call it that)!
For $23, I have to pick her up, even if I do cave and give it to one of my deserving nieces eventually.
I come across a fair amount of travel websites on a regular basis — OK, more like I seek them out, because you know how much I love them! A co-worker mentioned this site to me the other day and I was overjoyed to actually take it for a test drive. What's great about Trazzler is the fact that it will provide you with wonderful trip recommendations based on a certain location. It's soo easy to use, the suggestions are fabulous and it's not cluttered with a ton of info. Once you find something you like, you can add it to a wishlist (which will categorize according to country) or share it with a friend! Oh, and it's free to sign-up!

In California, we're all very aware of the newish Hands Free Law prohibiting driving while talking on a cell phone without a hands-free device, but did you know that texting isn't specifically forbidden by the law? That's surprising to me, especially in light of the report of an American teen that died in a car accident this week while she was driving and texting at the same time.
For the same primary reason that cell phone calls in cars aren't allowed - holding the phone inhibits your ability to use both hands - it seems that texting fits the same danger zone. Actually, since you have your eyes and hands on your phone to text, I think it's way worse to text while driving. And of course, they're both intellectual distractions, because your brain isn't fully focused on the road.
I've already quizzed you on the geeky first season of the amazing show Mad Men, and one of the questions was regarding one of my favorite early quotes by Don Draper about how he had no "magical machine that could make copies."
But, lo and behold, at the beginning of the second season, his foreshadowing scoff becomes a reality, and the office of Sterling Cooper gets a copy machine. Watch the flabbergasted expressions of the ladies of the office in response to the behemoth marvel of technology!
I just got back from a fab trip — a bunch of friends and I boarded a Carnival Fun Ship in honor of their birthdays. I have to admit, although I was looking forward to a relaxing vacation, I was nervous because I knew I would be out of cell range while we were spending the day at sea. What is a geek girl to do when she is totally disconnected!? Sure there are those iCafes aboard the ship, but who wants to spend money on those shared computers? So of course, I was ecstatic when I picked up my phone to see full reception – 23 miles off the coast!
There are some games I get excited about, and then there are the games that I cannot live without. Remember how unbearable the lead up was to Super Mario Galaxy was? Yeah, it's like that over the next few months for me. I hope I can make it through! If you're a smart gamer, and you've been saving up for the end of the year game season, good news – I have some pretty sure bets on which ones you should be holding out for!
Check out my upcoming game slideshow, and please try to keep your drooling to a minimum!

Now here's a geek-inspired home accessory that won't make your nongeeky friends call you names like "dork" or "loser" (hmm, maybe you should get new friends). This Math Signs Coaster ($22) set is made of sharply cut felt and depicts the math symbols you first encountered as a baby geek.
Now that you're a grown-up geek, you're entitled to have those same symbols on your coasters, especially when they are as classy as these are. Are you as enamored of these coasters as I am?
