With the sexy new BlackBerry Storm making its debut in November on the Verizon network, any early releases of pictures, and certainly videos, are always a treat. Watching RIM's first BlackBerry Storm commercial brought me back to Summer of 2007, when all we could think about was June 29 — the day Apple's iPhone hit store shelves. I decided to put the first iPhone commercial and now RIM's first BlackBerry Storm commercial side-by-side to see which one appeals to you more. Maybe I'm just biased because the Storm ad is new, but I find the music edgier, the colors brighter and it's just a lot livelier. Do you think the Storm ad makes it look more appealing than the iPhone?
I've been looking everywhere for a Wii Fit Yoga Mat ever since I saw it in the DreamGear Fitness Bundle, and behold — just yesterday I spotted the fit-worthy accessory in the game section of Target, and had to hold myself back from dropping it in my cart (gotta prioritize game accessories in this economy, right?). But I suppose the $30 price isn't too much to spend on my favorite Wii Fit exercise!
What other Wii Fit accessory did I find in the aisles that had my fingers itching to swipe my credit card? Find out when you read more
Lindsay Lohan's whirlwind life of acting, modeling, singing, and tumultuous relationships sure keeps our Pop team on their toes. But the one that manages to stay constant in her life is a gadget that seems to be a staple in her everyday look — her cell phone! Over the years, she's definitely rocked a variety of handsets, so much so, that I thought I'd take the liberty to point out just how many. The official invites for the special media event on Apple's campus for October 14 have already started rolling in, with each invite featuring an unidentified notebook that says "The spotlight turns to notebooks," at the very bottom. At 10 a.m. PDT next Tuesday, Steve Jobs will get up in front of an eager audience to announce the new MacBook and MacBook Pros, which will feature a total redesign and major upgrades. The crew at Boing Boing have already predicted that it will have a 13.3-inch diagonal length. Here's what else you can expect:
Yeah, I know sometimes you want to put your laptop on your lap, bed, or a pillow, like Carrie does, but if you're going to, please use protection. And if the usual laptop fans out there bother you, and you need something that screams goofy fun then how about this USB-powered Penguin Cooling Fan ($25)?
Don't worry, no one will think you take yourself too seriously — and your laptop won't overheat with Penguin's fans going (there's also a Doggy version)!
But . . . it is an animal, and I'm not sure if it says "grownup." Actually, I'm sure it does not say "grownup," but do you care?
Remember Real World: San Diego when two of the guys dressed up as Mario and Luigi? I loved it, and hope every year that two guys will stroll into the Halloween party I'm at as the Super Mario Brothers.
If this is the year you or your boyfriend is going to dress up as the legendary plumbing/Princess-saving brothers, then let me help you get started with the top of your costume — the hats! The green Luigi hat and red Mario hat are available from the same Etsy seller for $20 a piece and are embroidered to Italian stallion video game perfection!
Why yes, I have been looking for an excuse to put my iPhone in my mouth, Harmonica iPhone App guy! The Harmonica iPhone App — silly pitches aside — is a totally hilarious new addition to the App Store, and sort of unbelievable.
To make music out of your "harmonica" you just put your phone up to your mouth and move it around as you (sort of) would a real harmonica. You don't have to slobber on it. In fact, don't. It just needs to be near your mouth, so no funny business.
Make some music, entertain some people, have a new party shtick! Just $1 for your jazzy pleasure.
