On this week's How I Met Your Mother, Ted got ready to move out and had to evaluate all the stuff that the girls told him Stella would find dumb (seriously, she's not the mother, right? Right?!). One thing no one cool could find dumb was the first thing he pulled out — the robot cookie jar!
Dubbed "R2 Sweet Tooth," Ted looked lovingly at his robot cookie jar, as he should, and the next thing I thought was: WANT. If you want one, too, I've found a bunch of rad vintage ones (the only way to go), like this similar one. Check 'em out!
I'll be the first to tell you that some video games freak me out. I won't even get into how Doom 3 gave me nightmares for days — mechanical spiders with baby heads, anyone? — but yet I still kept playing! I must be a sucker for a scary game, especially if it's a good one. Halloween is fast approaching, and If you're planning a soiree this year, why not have a few freakishly scary games on hand for your party goers to play? Here are my top five spooky games to pick up for All Hallows Eve, or anytime you want to scare yourself into oblivion.

It sounds like everyone is universally excited about the new pricing and specs for the new MacBooks, but one area where I'm hearing different things is in the design. The new MacBooks look like the new Pros, with black glass corner-to-corner around the screen, and black keyboards like the Air has always had. This is obviously different than the old version (still currently available as the $999 entry-level MacBook) that's all white plastic.
I try not to get too attached to any Apple design since it's inevitable that they get tweaked a little, and I'm also curious to see the changes they make, like the slick black edges and keyboard, but I've already heard a lot of dissent.
Tell me, do you think the new black design is better or worse?
Yes, after the new MacBook Pros, new MacBook Airs, and new MacBooks were announced at the Apple Event in Cupertino yesterday, who else, but none other than Laurene Powell Jobs, decided to sit down on a bench right next to me. As she chatted away on her sleek white iPhone, I instantly knew it was her — especially after our "Geek Love: Tech Giants and Their Ladies" story which featured her and her hubby looking oh-so-adorable. Within a few minutes, Steve decided to join his blond beauty for some one-on-one time, which I'm guessing turned into a lunch date or a ride home together. All together now, ahhhh!

He is, not surprisingly, the first ever presidential nominee to run ads inside games, and without being partisan, I have to say that I'm kind of impressed. The ads will be run on billboards and signage (which is the kind of advertisement you guys said you didn't mind as much), and will encourage people to vote and to register to vote.
Very noble, but I'm envisioning a pixilated Barack Obama cracking down on Nico and his cohorts, personally!
