The next time someone asks you a question that is "Googleable" a new funny site called Let Me Google That For You lets you do a Google Search and then copy the search link so you can send it to that friend. When the person clicks on the link, it will direct them to the actual search results page. Funny and harmless. — Lifehacker
Last year around this time, I brought you a list of some airports in the US that offer free WiFi. Since many of us will be traveling this holiday season — with laptops and cell phones attached at our hips — it's helpful to know which airports won't be charging hefty rates for Internet use.
Many new airports have been added to the WiFi FreeSpot directory, so I suggest heading on over the site to see if the airports you'll be visiting this year will give you net access for free.
The trend of naming cell phones something catchy is pretty great — it's so much easier than remembering some crazy combination of letters and numbers.
However, sometimes the cell phone companies get a little out of hand with the clever names, and the nom de plumes don't exactly sound like tech marvels (as is the case with Samsung's toiletry-sounding names and LG's Hitchcockian names).
Today's source of confusion is Samsung again — can you guess which of these are cell phones, and which are the names of energy drinks?
A lot of you really liked last week's stylish DSLR bag, the Acme SLR Bowler Camera Bag, but some voiced concern about there needing to be room for lenses as well.
Despite the name, the bag is just $59, and while it's a bit sportier than I prefer, it's still inconspicuous as a camera bag, so it won't point thieves right to your expensive cargo.
Why the love for fonts? For me, it's equal part geekiness and a love for design. I have my rotating faves (right now it's Georgia), and an appreciation for the classics — as well as a dislike for a few (ahem, Comic Sans). Check out my slideshow for some of my favorite websites and products all revolving around a love for typefaces.
Show Your Wires: 12 Robot Goodies You'll Love It's no secret I love robots and robot-inspired jewelry and decorative items. They are cute, smart and celebrate everything I like about being a geek. Here's a look at some of my favorite robot fanfare.
I remember my excuses for not having or doing my homework to have been pretty lame, but as for tech excuses, like my computer "ate" the file — well, let's just say I'm sure I made them do it too. A study found that these days, the new homework excuses are tech-related, such as blaming hackers for getting into your laptop to snag just your 10-page paper on 12th century witchcraft.
So has one of your gadgets ever eaten or ruined your work, somehow? Or have you just made the excuse?
