Getting a new gadget gives me the same feeling as when I was a kid tearing into new boxes of toys. But like most adult thrills, there are drawbacks. High prices. Cord mess. And, of course, another remote. Until I commit to that one universal remote to rule them all (hello, Prestigo), I'm all about organizing what I've got. Check out my slideshow of tips and products to help you corral your many controllers.
Megan Fox has a sexy little package — in her hand that is. She was spotted toting her black iPhone 3G the other day, even multitasking with her coffee thermos in the same hand as the phone (a balancing act I'm familiar with). The last time we checked in with her, not only did she have a first generation iPhone, but she put that one in a protective case.
Her black 3G, though, isn't getting the same treatment, and though I love the way my sleek phone feels sans case, if I'm walking around — and especially, juggling — I'm scared enough of dropping my phone that I put it in a case. However, pre-smartphone, I never used a case, but that was also when I spent way less moola on my cell phones.
What about you? Do you use a case with your cell phone?
Gadget-Loving Brand: Pottery Barn Pottery Barn has long been an arbiter of American style, and I love that they've expanded that definition to include cell phone and iPod accessories in their line of home goods. Check out their myriad of techie products in my slideshow.
It almost seems like there isn't a day that goes by that I don't mention how I miss Polaroid — and for good reason, because it needs to come back and stay! Until those former Polaroid employees hook us up with the new version of the old instamatic, we have the PoGo Instant Digital Camera, or alternatively, if you already have a Diana Lomo camera, you can now get the Instant Back+, which attaches to the Diana.
Attaching the Instant Back+ allows you to have both the sweet, vintagey Diana effect in your instant photos, which makes it not so far away from the original Instamatic.
What price retro? 95 bones. Pretty pricey, considering a Diana camera alone generally costs less than that but I guess it depends on your Polaroid devotion.
I'm still recovering from the happiness high I received yesterday thanks to Gmail's announcement of YouTube, Picasa, Flickr and Yelp previews labs. But let the happiness high continue (I'm even more elated with this news), because there's now an Undo Send lab! Probably even more useful than the Mail Goggles Lab, this new "Undo" option can save you many headaches and sleepless nights.
Once you enable the lab, you'll have a five-second window of opportunity to click "undo" before an email is sent to the addressed recipient. You will notice the undo option right above the email, but you'll have to act fast. A notification (like the one below) will appear to let you know that your email is still within your control zone.
Fun plot twist aside, of course, I noticed that Serena was wearing a recognizable — and super chic — Jawbone Bluetooth Headset in Ramblin' Rose, to get her feed of dialogue from Vanessa. The champagne pink color is girlie, stylish, and will disappear into your hair, if you need it to.
Good news for big movie buffs. You can now head on over to the iTunes store and purchase movies in high definition for $19.99. And if you're wondering about renting, they will be available 30 days after the release date for $4.99.
So rather than having to wait in lines for Twilight tomorrow, you can have it pre-ordered, purchased and downloaded to your computer before everyone else. Ahh, the convenience of Internet shopping.
