I wanted those weird videogame chairs when I was a kid, and now that I'm of age to afford and pick out my furniture — well, no I haven't bought them. I still need to at least appear to be a grownup — but that doesn't mean I can't outfit my living room with sophisticated furniture that also happens to be great for gaming.

I love the newer versions of iPhoto for many reasons, one of them being the face recognition feature. Just tag a photo with a person's name and highlight their face, and iPhoto neatly organizes all the photos with them in it. Perfect for when you need to find a specific shot or you want to rag on a certain someone for all those late-night debauchery pics you've collected over the years.
But when I was organizing photos of my family over the weekend, I ran into a little problem when iPhoto tried to recognize my game-loving grandpa as you can see in this screenshot. How can a sweet-faced senior be mistaken for a Mr. Potatohead tattoo? Mistake one senior for another, sure, but not for a sharpie-drawn pic on my forearm. I thought it was pretty hilarious, and if you're wondering about the tat, don't. It was Halloween 2006. 'Nuff said.
Buuut, I can't hate on iPhoto for too long, since it comes packed with some other amazing features as well. To find out what they are, just read more
Charging stations, meet your king. The Blu Dot Juice Box Digital Dock is the Mercedes of charging stations. Blu Dot, for the uninitiated, is a high-end line of minimalist furniture with style to spare. They've brought the same flair to their first charging station, one that takes my breath right out of my mouth.
There is that price — $129 — which is a drawback, but it's still cheaper than most of Pottery Barn's charging stations — and they don't have Blu Dot's style.
Still, if you're not a minimalist, the juice box could be boring, and overpriced at that. What do you think?
An internal document reveals that employees of J. Crew are not allowed to blog at work, but wait — their definition of blogging is not just limited to keeping a personal online diary, it's also "any other form of posting information on the Internet, such as postings on a personal web site, business networking, social networking or affinity web site, on a bulletin board, or in a chat room."
I assume that means Facebook and Twitter, which employees are further instructed to not mention J. Crew if they are going to post anything anywhere. Fine if you don't have much to say about work, but they really stick a fork in it when they say, "Do not engage in blogging using any company resources." There go your Twitter updates about what you're eating for lunch.
I understand that the company wants to protect its image and interests, but we all know how cranky it makes worker bees to be denied their Facebook time.
Does your company have a stringent blogging/Facebook/Twitter policy?

The Kardashian girls were up to their old tricks again on this week's episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians when Khloe started having some reservations about her boyfriend, basketball player Rashad McCants. Kim, the 007 of cell phone hacking, was able to break into Rashad's cell phone's voicemail to see if there was anything worthy of confirming Khloe's fears. Let's just say that she ended up dumping the guy. Have you ever listened to a significant other's voicemail?
