Look, Rebecca Minkoff, do you have a crush on me or something? It's just that you keep designing laptop bags and sleeves that I routinely become obsessed with, and it's like you heard my cries for more chic laptop bags for those of us gals who are constantly toting our computers around. What's the deal?
So I actually spotted this bag while I was shopping this weekend at a shoe store — I saw it on the shelf and, eyes wide as saucers, pulled it down, mouth agape like some creepy weirdo. The salesgirl understood. It's the Ibiza MAB Laptop Bag (part of the Morning After Bag collection.
The all-leather exterior in lapis is dreamy — literally, this bag would only be mine in my dreams. It's $455 on sale, so you know what means: look, don't touch!
Yesterday I got some good news for anyone who upgraded to an iPhone 3G last year, only to be told they wouldn't be eligible for an upgrade to the 3G S at the time of its launch: you may have just been given the green light.
So even if you're not eligible yet, there's a silver lining, and that goes for all iPhone users (and Touch, holla!): the 3.0 OS update! I thought the OS update to 2.0 last year was amazing, but 3.0, with its ooh-la-la features including cut and paste, Spotlight, and MMS, feels like more than just a firmware update (check out my review for all of my thoughts).
Of course, I am still rabid about the new iPhone 3G S — the new camera, the compass, the voice control, and video. Oh, the video. But I am afraid to check and see if I even qualify for the upgrade now because I'm worried I'll be tempted, almost sure I'll buy it if I can, when I know perfectly well that I am getting a cool thing already with the 3.0 OS.
So tell me — what excites you more, the new iPhone's features, or the new OS's features?

The uber helpful Tinyurl is great for sending shortened links to friends and posting on Twitter, but it sure does take a lot of steps to complete the task. First you have to copy the link, go to Tinyurl, paste, make your link tiny, then go back over to your Twitter page (or email draft, IM, whatever) and paste the shortened link. Sounds like a lot of steps, right?
With the new Firefox extension called Social Whale, the process of shortening a URL has been reduced to two steps. Yes, two. Social Whale is free to download to Firefox, and adds a small whale icon to the bottom right of your browser for safe keeping. Once you're on a page you want to link to, all you have to do is click on the whale icon, and Social Whale automatically shortens the link and copies it to your clipboard. Then, the only thing you have to do is paste the link into your email, IM, or Twitter page. You're then free to continue your web browsing, knowing you just saved yourself like a whole 10 to 20 seconds of time. Personally, I need all the time I can get.
But Social Whale isn't just a one-trick pony. See what else it can do, when you read more
Starting tomorrow, the coveted iPhone 3G S will go on sale at 211 Apple stores nationwide and at all 2,200 AT&T store locations as well. In light of the recent news that AT&T would be offering an upgrade pricing adjustment for current customers, I think it's safe to say more people will be upgrading. But before the iPhone 3G S makes it to your gadget hungry hands, it is packaged and sealed with love at the AT&T distribution center. Pure geek eye candy, I tell ya.
