Ever see a kid jumping on the sidewalk with light-up sneakers and think, why can't I have fun accessories like that? Well, the wait for the flashiest shoes on the block is over. These "Sensitive Shoes" put that extra blingin' pep in your step, or as designer Steve McIntyre would put it: "The shoes offer an emotional 'bath of light' experience so that the act of walking is 'healing.' As you walk pressure points are stimulated by pressing on a soft sensitive area that corresponds with various reflexology points causing a gentle glow from the underside of the sole. The ball of the foot touches on the solar plexus point, the center of emotional energy."

There seems to be a universal truth about writing - it's a lot easier to pen the more awkward emotions in life than to mutter them. The problem is, this leads to millions of small, scribbled pieces of paper with heart-wrenching notes that invariably end up in the wrong hands. And you can't blame anyone for reading them because the "I shouldn't be reading this, but I am" rush is too precious not to feed. Who hasn't found a piney love letter some 13 year-old scribbled to her matheletes partner, or an emo rant written by a rejected musician?
Found Magazine collects the little oddities in life - love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, doodles- anything that gives a glimpse into someone else's life - and shares them with its readers.
"Going through the site's find of the day is very addicting," said missyosigirl, who introduced me to the site. "I can't get enough of the notes and pictures that they find because of the unique and interesting stories you can derive from each."
Note: The yellow post-it pictured above was found in the freshman campus gazebo at Duke University. Not on my desk. And the answer is runny nose. Hands down.
Label Suisse recently hosted Lausanne, a music free music festival in Switzerland that included artsy printed matters (poster, program, t-shirts) as well as the elaborate cardboard speaker installations. I was drawn to the effort because most concert halls are dark, dismal looking places that lack artistry except for whatever is happening on the stage. Of course, the standard for speakers is plain black with little embellishments, so while these cardboard creations undoubtedly sunk sound quality a bit, they sure do beat your average sound box.
It seems Alicia Keys was more interested in watching the Minnesota Timberwolves play the New York Knicks Game at Madison Square Garden through her tiny Samsung Camcorder last week than watching say, the court.
From what I can tell the songstress has got herself a 2.1 Mega Pixel Miniket Camcorder with built-in 1 GB.
The Miniket allows you access to personal movies, pictures, music, data, web communication and costs $1,599 off the Samsung site. I can't help but notice it looks like Alicia has a gold camcorder, which may or not be some sort of "unattainable for us non-celebrity gadget lovers" edition. Do you ever look at your credit card and thing, "golly, this thing is boring. I really need to bling it out so it looks more exciting!" Enter CreditCovers, which are trendy "skins" for your credit cards. In fact, the covers work for any kind of plastic - credit cards, debit cards, ATM cards, cash cards, loyalty cards, store cards and gift cards. Think about it," says the website. "There are three things you probably never leave the house with: your cell, your ID, and your credit card. You don't let your mom choose your clothes, so why would you let your bank choose how your cards look? Why not have some cool, original art on your cards - a different CreditCover for every card!"
Note: They're not slipcovers, they only apply to the front of your cards, not the back, so they won't mess up your magnetic strip. All styles cost $4.99.
Geeks on patrol found these dazzling crystal covers at the Nintendo World Store in NYC (except for the Super Mario Bros. DS that is not available for sale yet). You can choose from four available cover designs, if you don't mind spending $600 for a DS Lite cover.
As you know, I think of my DS Lite as an everyday delight, but I'm not sure I'd throw down for a fancy Swarovski cover. Then again, I never say never.
