This pink DOC portable mp3 speaker dock reminds me of another pink sphere speaker- the mStation, naturally!
As much as I love my mStation, and all the attention I receive from having it on my desk, the DOC is something I could use when I'm on the go since it's tiny enough to stash in my oversized laptop bag.
This battery-operated speaker is compatible with 2nd-generation iPod nanos and is easily transportable with its included protective storage case. Colors include black, white, metallic green or pink to match the new iPod nanos. Only $39 at Brookstone. I wonder if mom would like it...
A recent study that looked at the technology people purchase, use and think about shows that not everything thinks of technology as a good thing. According to the Pew Internet and American Life Project, half of all American adults are only occasional users of modern information gadgetry, while 8 percent are avid participants in all that digital life has to offer.
The study asked people about their use of the internet, cell phones and other devices that connect to the internet (such as digital and video cameras) as well as questions about people's actions (in terms of downloading video and audio) and attitudes (how people use the internet to pursue hobbies etc).
They found that Americans were broadly divided into three groups - 31 percent are frequent users of multiple technologies, 20 percent are moderate users and the rest have little or no access to the internet or cellphones. So you just arrived back from your weekend getaway and now you want to print some of your memorable moments. Because you experimented with various camera settings and sizes, you are wondering what size to adjust the images to for printing. First things first: try to print your pics at a resolution of at least 240 dpi (dots per inch) as anything less could result in prints with a noticeable pixilated look. Keep in mind that the higher the resolution, the finer the printed image quality.
Here is a guide to help you figure out what size your images should be printed at.

Christian Nold, a London-based artist describes technology as such: "It is not the neutral, rational instrument that it is portrayed as; instead it appears to be a heady and unstable mix of authoritarian control and anarchic mischief." His project, which is called "emotional mapping" or "bio mapping," encourages volunteers to wear GPS devices and lie detector sensors while exploring various neighborhoods in cities across the world. This system is said to detect people's emotions as the data is combined with their accounts of what they felt and saw. From this compiled data, he hopes to offer a commentary on the subjective nature of reality. His first U.S project brings him to San Francisco for five weeks where individuals will leisurely explore various areas of the city while mapping it with their emotions.

Eco-friendly, green gadgets are quickly becoming a staple in the gadget world. No one wants a car, computer, MP3 player or even lightbulb that runs on last century's "green technologies." And designers are even creating gadgets made from their own packaging. Amid the growth of eco products, Greenpeace has released the third edition of its Electronics Guide, which looks at electronics manufacturers' policies and practices and their impact on the environment.

It doesn't include any specific consumer tips, but it does help consumers gain some insight into what companies have in store and how they address green gadgetry. For a look at which companies showed improvement, read more
