I love my online to-do lists and receiving text message reminders on my cell phone with Oh Don't Forget, so when I learned that Twitter has a new reminder service, I jumped right on board. With Twitter timer you can get a direct message sent to you at anytime to remind you to do something. Featured on Lifehacker, all Twitter users can get regular "tweet" reminders sent to their inbox or cell phone. I no longer have excuses for working through meetings and coffee dates.
For all the iPhone hype the device may be falling behind the too-hot-to-trot Prada phone. Word is, the Prada phone by LG has sold over 300,000 units since its launch in March, while earlier this week AT&T announced it has only activated 146,000 iPhones. (Apple released its third quarter results yesterday, but that quarter ended three days after the iPhone release so there are no telling figures). Both phones feature touchscreen technology and have skated by on their sleek luxury cell phone status. The Prada phone costs about $550 - $650, while the iPhone is $499 for the 4 GB and $599 for the 8GB. Whether the Prada phone has outsold the iPhone or not, it's important to note the Prada phone is available outside the US, while the iPhone launched only in the US. It's quite simple really: Crusher is the new Evite.
We can't all take the time to create 25+ decadent handmade invites the way PartySugar does, so some of us have to take the techie route (although I'll admit it, PartySugar's invites are always nicer than mine!)
If you've used Evite you know it's a pretty straightforward set up. You make a blanket invite, invite friends via their e-mail addresses and let people RSVP, make comments and see who else is coming via your online invitation. The site is all good and dandy, but not without some bugs and a small army of distracting ads.
Crusher (the url is actually Crush3r.com) is a simple, toned down version of Evite sans the ads. It was created by an independent group of designer/developers in the Bay area. "We're simply trying to do things better than the bigger monkeys, and the big gorilla," says the team. Crusher allows you to send invites to your events and events you go to so your friends will always be in the loop. You can request that your friends RSVP or simply invite people to your page. Your guests aren't required to sign up.
Designed by Cherif Morsi, the TimeCap hopes to become a burial ritual for the 21st century. The idea is that instead of putting someone’s ashes in an urn, the small USB device holds photos, sound bytes, videos, and any other type of digital media, so you can memorialize your loved ones with happy memories. You can wear around your neck and plug it in whenever you need a moment of reflection or reconnection with the deceased person. I like the sentiment but can't imagine this really taking off. What do you think, do you like the idea? Source: Yanko Design
Black and white desk top items might be the most obvious and subtle choice, but if you are trying to add some sweet, lovable flair to your workspace and only want to change one thing consider a romantic mouse pad.
Vintage-inspired prints with deer, owls, Victorian prints, fairy-tale scenes and enchanting images allow you a tiny dose of fantasy throughout your very real work day. I adore this I like your scarf mouse pad, $14, which features two dreamy kids holding hands and being adorably moody.

For the first time ever I have to give Paris Hilton props. The heiress was spotted carrying her laptop in a pink sumo laptop sleeve while leaving a private acting coach class recently. Why does she deserve kudos?
The Sumo laptop sleeve has long been one of my favorite designs on the market. In fact, last week I even featured it in my bright summery laptop sleeve roundup. The sleeve is $34.99 and allows safe laptop protection. It doesn't have a strap, but it's great for covering your laptop and slipping into a larger purse, carry on or even on its own as Paris is seen using it.
It's made from quilted corduroy and comes in an assortment of sizes (13", 15", and 17"). If you're not a pink person you can get it in black, red, and my personal favorite, green. Enter the promotion code "koloparis" to get 10 percent off any order over $50 now through the end of August.
