If you're still wondering what the heck the One Laptop Per Child
project is, I highly recommend watching David Pogue's insightful video about the XO laptop. Or you can check out the video below which features a nine-year-old boy giving his enthusiastic review of the bright green and white innovative laptop. Let's just hope that this machine teaches him about more countries other than Nigeria and Peru. Gotta love how his eyes light up when he says, "You can even record yourself!"
We already know that Naomi Campbell can be quite the drama queen, so when I heard the following story, I wasn't the least bit shocked or surprised. According to TMZ, Naomi told authorities that she was mugged at a Led Zeppelin concert in London recently. It turns out, she wasn't. Though the model reported her bag and two mobile phones stolen, it was really just her BlackBerry that was missing in action (and probably didn't get put in her Hermes bag before she left the house).
What's the deal with her and her BlackBerry? First she throws it at her maid, and now she has attachment issues with it?
From what I gather, her beloved BB is more important to her than her wallet, or anything else living in her handbag for that matter. On that note, what would you miss more — your cellphone or wallet?
Designers at Armani, Prada, and Gucci aren't the only fashion-forwarded types to realize geek is chic — Stella McCartney has an amazing Losina Patent Camera Bag, that's a real cut above the usual camera tote. The bag measures 11 inches wide by 7 inches (it's also 6 inches deep, so it's perfect for those of us who use an SLR camera) and is covered with silver metal accents. The front of the bag has a hidden slot pocket behind the buckle/belt treatment, with a secure magnetic closure. Stella is a strict vegetarian so the bag is actually fabric covered with a patent finish. It's on sale for $400 (down from $1,235). Hey Santa? Is it too late to add this to my list? I promise I've been a very good girl.
Have you ever checked out hot or not, a website that rates men and women based on their supposed "hotness level"? Well there's now a website version (literally) called Command Shift 3, that has you click on websites that you think are hot (minus the nudity). On Command Shift 3, you will see screenshots of two websites side by side. You then get to select which one you think looks best, or you can declare a draw if you can't decide. It's solely based on aesthetics, so don't try to psychoanalyze the websites like I did. My favorite part is checking out the bests and worsts — there are truly some "hot" websites out there! Thanks for sharing, Calamari! To learn how to post your favorite websites to our Website of the Day group, read more
This portable hard drive certainly looks like a yummy Kit-Kat bar, doesn't it? Designed by Sang-Hoon Lee, each piece of this concept design USB Hub is made of a modular flash drive for all your storage needs, and if my addition is correct, it includes sixteen in total. There is also a touchscreen in the center to help you organize all your files. Maybe not as user friendly as the Hub Man, although I love the pastel colors. Even though it's only a concept design right now, I'm still curious to know what you guys think of it. Let me know below!
Adorned with flashing LED lights, this battery-operated tree is the ultimate geek gift or Christmas decoration for serious computer nerds.
As you can see in the pics, the battery is used as the trunk which holds the tree upright. You'll also notice that the lights flash red, unlike white which I had expected—and hoped!
