Whenever I went trick or treating as a kid, the scariest houses were the ones that had decorations that moved, lit-up or made spooky sounds. When I first read about the robotic Snap-O-Lantern, I immediately thought of the furnace scene in Home Alone when Kevin imagines it lighting-up and attacking him.
