Will You Use Google Buzz?

Reactions were mixed after yesterday's Google Buzz announcement. Many people seemed skeptical of the new feature; after all, we already have Twitter, Facebook, and so many other ways of keeping in touch with friends . . . Is this overkill?

I can't decide if I'm on the Buzz train yet. On one hand, it's built into Gmail so it's easy to use and already includes most of my friends and most-emailed contacts. On the other, I'm still afraid it's a little too easy to post something you may not want everyone reading, and the potential for oversharing is huge. What do you think?

No. I already don't want to share any information on FB. I don't see the point of Twitter and especially since it's attached to my personal email, I don't feel protected.

I gueeeesss. I was a late boarder to the myspace/facebook/twitter train, too. I just feel a little tired/overwhelmed by attempts to monopolize my life, branding into ONE thing: facebook doing the email thing, google buzz w/ the networking thing...

I like that it makes it easy to share posts from google reader, flikr, picasa, twitter, etc. in one place, but so far it's just been me and my ex using it...which is kind of awkward.

I think it'll take a while to catch on, but the mobile version is stinking cool. I love that I can see what people around me are saying even if we're not friends. It's like taking Latitude social. Once people start using it, I think they'll really like that it's integrated with their Google Account.

I didn't vote just because there isn't a "I'm still trying to figure this out" option. I'm trying it out with my friends now, but I've spent most of my morning trying to figure out how to only share some items with some people... must remember that penis jokes are good for some friends, but NOT appropriate for others. =x
