Are You Over the Geek-Cake Craze?

Although I am still "eating up" all the geeky cakes being made by crafty bakers (and even our own TeamSugar members), I know that some of you may roll your eyes at the thought of seeing one more cake in the likeness of an iPhone or Star Wars character — even this crazy accurate R2D2 wedding cake — however crafty that they may be. I do love finding these edible gems, but are you totally over it?

I LOVE the geeky cakes! Infact, I wanted a Super Mario Brothers cake for my wedding, but couldn't find anyone who could do it perfect. Feh!

Geek cakes never get old, in my opinion. There's so much love and effort that goes into most of them. My boyfriend and I made a cube cake a while back, and I still see photos of it pop up from time to time.

I voted that it is getting old BUT I made my boyfriend a Portal cake for his birthday in February and he LOVED IT. He still talks about it sometimes. So really my vote is... whatever makes people happy!
