Would You Buy A Fake iPod Shuffle?

Uber Apple geek Pete Mortensen spotted these Shockingly Well Executed Counterfeit iPod Shuffles in San Francisco’s Chinatown and I had to agree with him: They're pretty close to the real thing. They are actually MANNDigital Mp3 players that have the very same look, size and even packaging of Apple’s teeny tiny iPod shuffles. While there are some differences - the volume and skip track buttons have switched places and it comes in black, which the real shuffle doesn't - the casual fan wouldn't know the difference. No word on the price, or if it's cheaper than the real shuffle (although I suspect it is). Would you buy a fake iPod shuffle?

How do you charge these fake Ipod Shuffles? My friend won one on of those grabbing machines and it came with a USB and headphones but it won't charge when connecting the USB to the computer. Light is Red all the time even after charging it for hrs on computer. Even charged it with an AC Wall Adapter for 4 hours but Red light still on and cannot hear music. Is it defective or is there something else I can do so my friend can listn to this?

I have one. Fake shuffle! has hello kitty on it and i paid $8.00. Not tethered to i-tunes either. Works fine. Try one!

I purchased 3 of these online a year and a half ago for my 3 nieces who were 5, and 11 at the time (twins). THey have lasted and sound JUST like my sisters ipod shuffle. The only difference is that they are slightly bigger, and feel a little different. They also only cost $8 each. I didnt want to spend money on something for 3 girls to lose easily (which they did). Remarkably, they love these, and have taken good care of them. They couldn't care less that its not really an ipod shuffle. It plays music, sounds great, and if they lose them? eh.....

Well in an shannon airport(ireland) there was this machine in the arcade section in which you could win one of these "fake ipods' . I somehow won on my first. it wasnt compatible with itunes but was still easy to get music onto . and it had 2gb which i thought was pretty gud . so mabye it is worth buying. But i wouldnt .

I bought a MANNDIGITAL 2GB SHUFFLE. Not only does apple not offer 2GB for the shuffle, they also don't Offer my favorite color Black. I purchased a 2Gb Manndigital black shuffled for $75 three months ago, and I must say I am really impressed and happy with the quality. Even the earphones are high quality. The sound is remarkable on these Mp3 players, so ask me if I am happy ? YES! Ask me if I would purchase more in the future? YES! Also, at first I thought I had a problem with the mp3 player because when i connected the USB to the computer, nothing happened. I called the store and the store told me someone from MANNDIGITAL technical support would call me. 1 Hour later someone called me from MANNDIGITAL and we went through a few troublshooting steps and he told me to try another USB port on my computer and IT WORKED fine! Overall, I've had a great experience and saved a few bucks for a QUALITY item.

i already have an ipod but for a tiny little thing to carry music on the go, or to give as gift...HECK YES! i would never buy a fake ipod but a tiny little shuffle, who cares? if you want genuine, dig into you pocket and buy an iphone or ipod.

I love my shuffles (2!) and they aren't that expensive in the first place, for the quality and ease of use.

I bought the nano one on Ebay, it's only $36 which including shipping cost. it said 4GB but actually only 2GB, i complained to them about the problem, and the seller actually willing to offer me a refund or giving me $5 back, so i thought it's only 36 so i'm just gonna keep it and get the $5 back. it's not like it's $100 or something so i really don't care. $30 for 2GB isn't so bad actually.

No way. The shuffle isn't very expensive to begin with, and even if it's a bit more than the knockoff, I have the piece of mind that my shuffle is Apple quality.

so i'm living in china, and fakes are everywhere... it ends up becoming a part of your life... but as an apple purist i wouldn't touch them, but my parents have gotten fake ipods and they suck, they have like half a gig on them and they don't work so well. they got a fake shuffle, it came with 3 songs on it already, it looks real but you can't delete the songs or add any... so the fake suffles aren't so fun... I would never buy a fake in the states but here in china for purses its the only way you can get anything decent that doesn't have hello kitty on it or cost way too much... along with socks and other misc. items...

for myself?? no! for my 7 year old cousin who is looking for an mp3 player with fun colors that i'm sure will lose it after a short time, maybe...i mean $75 isn't a lot of money, but for a child who will inevitably get sick of it and possibly lose it or want something cooler (the next generation of ipods perhaps) by the time they will really begin to enjoy it and have something other than hannah montana on it, i might give it the green light.
