Wii Fit Balance Board Silicone Sleeves: Love or Leave?

Apparently what a geek wants is to coat all her gadgets in gels. They're ubiquitous among BlackBerrys and iPhones, and I've seen them for Mighty Mice (mouses?), and now: Silicone Sleeves for the Wii Fit Balance Board ($20).

I have a love/hate relationship with gel cases; while they're great at protecting your gear (especially in the case of a fall), the light ones tend to get discolored and murky looking, and they are lint-magnets (ever leave your gel-covered BlackBerry in your handbag with a floating tissue? Oy vey). I also haven't noticed that my balance board needs protecting, but the silicone might make a more comfortable surface underfoot. What do you think?

The soft silicone material acts as an absorbent to lessen the impact of measures taken in the Balance Board, which is sure to happen with active game. I want one just for the ability to not have my hands slide off during push-ups! I've been wearing socks with non-skid bottoms in the meantime to keep it clean

I just wear those weight lifting gloves when I put my hands on the board. My feet don't really hurt on it. I DID see a sleeve that had those little bumps on it that massage your feet the other day. That is something I'd like to try!

givecoup what a great way to explain it!! I was just going to say, it gets dirty!! BUT duh, I like glam sugar's response...I'll just wear socks...doesn't fix the pushups but I haven't done those yet as I just got my wii fit a week ago and couldn't get it hooked up till yesterday. But I'm lovin' it!!

I just wear socks when I use Wii Fit. I don't know that I'd like the silicone over that like I do the remotes.

It's a must have for me. I live in a small apartment with a dog and two cats. It's so furry inside, so the sleeve prevents the fur from getting inside the fit and ruining it (or so I like to think).

Currently my wii fit board seems to work like that infomercial-advertised sticker that takes the toxins from your soles -- meaning it gets dirty quickly. I'd like anything that didn't do that AND made it softer on the hands for push-ups.

hmmm...if silicone picks up lint, then no. Stepping from the floor to the wii board going to cause some lint issues there. But on the other hand, it would be softer than the board itself. I don't have any issue with the board being too hard on my feet, but doing push ups with my hands on the board really hurts!
