When and Where to See the Solar Eclipse

How to Watch Sunday's Solar Eclipse

Lucky residents of the Western US will be looking to see the sky this Sunday, May 20 when an annular solar eclipse passes from northwestern Texas through New Mexico, northeastern Arizona, southern Utah, Nevada, northern California, and southwestern Oregon. Living on the other side of the country doesn't mean you have to miss out on the celestial wonder; NASA, naturally, has got you covered.

The Hinode satellite is on the mission! The satellite will send images and movies to the NASA website for anyone worldwide without a view of the eclipse. Because of its orbit around the Earth, Hinode will capture four separate partial eclipses for Earthlings to watch.
