What is the Facebook Poke Feature?

I was kind of surprised to hear this morning that TrèsSugar still uses the poke feature on Facebook. I haven't used the feature in years myself (and never really understood the appeal), but apparently it still has a loyal user base.

So now I'm curious — do you still "poke" your friends on Facebook?

Like Jamie, my boyfriend and I have an "poke war" that has been going on since we started dating about 3 years ago! It happens several times a day and I think we both don't really know why it's still going on. Other than that, no other poking of people happening here. ;)

I didn't know it was there until a friend "poked" me, so yeah... I started using it again. I agree with @bethinabox & @amber512 :)

Pretty much every day, because I respond to them. I don't ever start it, but I refuse to finish it :)

My husband and I have an ongoing "poke war," but I haven't poked anybody else for about 6 years (junior year of college, lol).

DUH! I poke TONS. The worst is when your poke gets rejected because someone hasn't accepted your last poke. :-/
