Brazilian designer Roberta Ramme created the Wave Chaise, which is being marketed as a way to keep teenagers in their room. Considering all of its functions, there's no denying it will meet its goals. Still at the conceptual stage, the over sized chaise comes with a built-in TV, DVD player, audio system, computer desk and storage for CDs and DVDs. Essentially, it's a media cabinet you can sit in.

I'm a firm believer that teenagers - particularly gadget-loving teenagers - spend too much time indoors anyway, so this design, while resourceful and techie-inspired, wouldn't be something I'd give to my teenager. I would however, be up to a veg-out session in it. Movies, books and DVDs oh my! For the designer's take and additional photos, read more
Says Ramme:
Imagine a furniture to wear... then dress it with an innovator design, intense colors, ergonomics and technology appeal. Like in fashion, the point is to unify beauty, comfort, and functionality. Whether your desire is to watch TV or DVD, listen to your favorite CD, read, talk on the phone, or even study, take a nap or browse the internet, you got it close, in a multifunctional chaise-lounge. This concept is inspired by the values and personality of a today's teenager and the standards generated by a global hi-tech culture of facilities, where the access to technology is cheap and easy.

Let's hear it for the trendy new way to early adult diabetes and obesity due to sitting on your arse all day! Granted, its a spectacular space saver, but I don't know if encouraging teens to stay in their room all day is exactly the best idea.
"Party like a rock star, pound like a porn star, play like an all star!"
1i think its sweet, and it looks super comfy. i'd love to do homework on that thing anyday, but yes of course, not all day.
2I'm sorry, when I'm not out with my friends or at school. I'm chilling on my bed with my laptop, which causes problems with my sleep cycle. Having that would be TEH BOMB, because it looks AWESOME it has everything, and it would be the entertainment center of the room. Plus it looks way comphy. and It would be a great place to Just hang out and take al oad off and watch some good movies, or sit on my laptop.
3I think it needs arm rests but otherwise, sign me up!
4As a teen, I think thats pretty darn awesome! Wouldn't be something I'd have in my room, but I still really think that people my age would go for something like that.
5I agree with the other posters who don't neccessarily think encouraging teens to stay in their rooms all day is a good thing. Besides the health risks of such a sedentary lifestyle, you're also looking at messed up sleep cycles due to staying up all night and lots of antisocial kids who barely talk to their parents.
6While I'm a huge advocate for children exercising outside, I don't think furniture is to blame for laziness/obesity/etc. It may encourage it, but those who want to sit on their butts all day will do it with a crappy TV and desk.
7I'm not a teen, but damn do I want one.
8I'd put it in the office.
I'd never get anything done.
talk about one-stop shopping . . .
9your teen will never come out of her room with this thing. probably not a great idea if you're trying to encourage more quality family time.
It looks like the hotness. Too bad there aren't any armrests. Also, the cd holder is in an odd place. A truly lazy person wouldn't want to squat on the ground to pick through the cd's, especially since they are in such a wierd pattern.
10minus the big ugly flower, i love it.
11Where can you buy one of these???? SIGN ME UP- IM ONLY 11 AND THIS ROX!!!
