I'm dying to know the applied uses of a Waterproof Flash Drive. Not to imply that these aren't useful — for those who needed them, they'd be just that. I'm just ultra-curious about the kind of tasks these memory sticks would be used for.

Amphibious geeks? Underwater subterfuge? They're like a Bond accessory. These in particular, by Man Works Design (no purchase details available), also happen to be adorable in their efficiency — brightly-colored mini submarines? Love.

What would you use one for?

i have also fallen victim to the flash drive in the washer scenario... and also dropping my keys in a puddle (with a usb keychain)... and am constantly spilling... this seems like it would be a good idea for a klutzo like me

lol my husband left his thumb drive in his pants and i washed it and dried it last night, I will be getting him one of these as a joke. ahhahah!

I've run a Flash drive through the wash before - unintentionally. This would have saved me from losing the data that was on it.

Maybe this isn't quite as imaginative, but I could see it being useful if you were someone who spent a lot of time outside, but had to move plans or diagrams around from computer to computer (I'm thinking of construction, shipyard, lighthouse and nautical-type jobs, specifically).
