I work in an area that's populated with a sickening amount of restaurants, yet every single day, when it's lunch time, I have absolutely no idea what I want. Too many choices is a luxurious problem, I realize, but that doesn't make me decide on what to eat any sooner. But now I finally have someone to tell me what to do: Urban Spoon!

The Urban Spoon app for the iPhone can be used to find nearby restaurants like the Yelp app, but that's not the genius fun part: the Shake feature has you scroll to an area, a type of cuisine, and a price range (lock any of the three if you are set on an area or a kind of food), and then you literally shake it!
Shake it easy, shake it like a Polaroid picture, you know the drill. They settle on a randomized restaurant, and then boo-ya grandma, the decision is made for you!

I wish this app had a display for restaurant menus, but otherwise it's def cute for deciding where to go eat
1It is a fun app and actually it showed me some places to go that I wouldn't had thought about going for lunch (normally some place we go for breakfast or dinner only).
2I need this for my blackberry.
3geek, is this only for the iphone? my bf and i can NEVER decide on where to eat and always end up at subway or mcdonald's! lol we could sure use this!
4LOVE this app!
5I'm off to download this. I love Tris, the free version of Tetris.
6on of my fav downloads so far! and i'm super geeked they bought boxoffice back (it sort of has a new name). and free is awesome!
7how much is this for the iphone?
PinkyPink: http://www.coverpop.com/wheeloflunch/ -- Just pop in your zipcode and some sort of keyword (italian, sandwich) and it'll find places near you!!
8Tidal: it's free!
9I agree with macgirl. Discovered new places in the area.
10My fiance is addicted to shaking the slot machine feature. It got me thinking about how crazy it is that we are turning to technology/machines for randomness... if you are interested, I wrote about it at http://peopleareamazing.wordpress.com/2008/08/21/pattern-finding-and-ran...
11http://www.lunchpicker.net is similar to this app. I use this on my blackberry. Haven't gotten the iPhone yet...
12I rather have somebody to give me advise where to have a great dinner. That's why I definitely prefer Zagat (http://zagat.com) or Cool Restaurants - Worldtop7 (http://worldtop7.com).
