You know the bright light that flashes on the back of your BlackBerry Bold, Curve, or Tour whenever you take a photo or video footage? Well this light can actually be used for more than just a camera flash — it can be used as a flashlight thanks to this BlackBerry App!
The Flashlight One Touch uses your phone's video camera (without the recording turned on) and the light on the back of your phone to provide you with a handy flashlight. Once you download the app — which you can take for a trial run for free, or pay $3 for the full version — just open your video camera, click on the menu button and choose options. Then set "Video Light" to on and your light will always work when you open the video camera. To turn off the flashlight, just hit the back (or escape) key.
Also, turn off the Auto-Dim setting (in options). . . this does not affect your back light from going out.

I purchased this app thinking it was a standalone program that would simply run on its own by pressing one of the programmable keys on the BB. Much to my surprise, this app only keeps the video camera from dimming the flash LED and screen when not recording.
In the past, I've just used the video camera's light as a flashlight, but the idle timeout would dim the light and I would have to press a key to bring it back up. This is much better than paying $3 (I know it's not that much money, but every dollar counts with only 1 household income). So what if you have to press one of the volume keys every 10-30 seconds? It's not that hard, and surely doesn't cost $3!
Save some money and wait for someone to tap into the flash LED directly before buying this app!

2Hii..
3I love the fact that the bold is push email, so I get a near real time notification of all my emails. That will come in really handy when I get auditions and such while I'm out. It works very well and gives it to me with multiple email address. It was nice to be able to communicate using all three of my main accounts. I have others on top of those, but I only added those three to my Blackberry. The others don't need adding.

Hi All,
4This is nice, but it has one problem. The progam just runs the Video Camera, which requires the media card to be in. This is a problem, because the storage card is disabled by company policies.
Unfortunately, it seems, that all such a applications work on the same principle - just run the videocamera.
Any ideas how to use the great flashlight without access to the memory card?
