Toy Train in Space Video

Video of the Day: Toys in Space

Space travel may not be as untouchable as you think. Wanting to give his son an unforgettable adventure, filmmaker Ron Fugelseth sent his favorite toy, the never-leaves-the-boy's-side Stanley train, to the edge of space and back. To be exact, Stanley was sent on a weather balloon 18 miles above the Earth for the ride of a little toy's life. But that's not all — the train was equipped with an HD camera to capture the view and an old cell phone to function as GPS tracker to locate the toy when the balloon popped, and it fell back to land.

Ron edited the experience into "A Toy Train in Space," the sweet story of a father and son's spirit told through that little silver tank engine that could.
